A/N: I literally have no idea on how to do medical stuff pls bear with me.

Jade's POV:

"So what you need to do, is to clean the blood with this antibacterial soap, not on the wound, then rinse the wound under running water before wrapping a bandage around it," Clint explained, as he cleaned one of the cooks hand who had accidentally cut his hand. I watched closely at what he did, such as applying pressure on the wound before fastening the bandage with the clip. The cook left and Clint turned to me.

"If theres anyone with a cut like that, usually it will be a slicer, you know what to do. Its relatively simple. However, if anyone gets stung or has like a life-threatening injury, call either me or Jeff. I will show you how to handle more serious ones in within the next few days," Clint said. I just nodded and looked around the Med-Jacks room. Clint had left to do something else and I was left by myself.

Another slicer came in with a deep gash on his right arm, and I started patching him up, following what Clint had told and taught me. He winced when I cleaned the wound before I muttered 'sorry'.

"Take care and be careful next time, Ryan," I smiled, as the slicer got up again.

"Thanks Jade. Honestly this wrapping is so much better than Jeff's and Clint's. Theirs look like a child did them before rushing off to get some candy. Those shcukfaces," Ryan chuckled, as he walked out of the room. I was now alone. I looked around the room and took in my surroundings.

There were bottles of painkillers and aspirin (for bonfire nights). There were also a few boxes with small syringes filled with some sort of blue liquid on the shelves. Other minor things included bandages, plasters, antiseptic soaps and cotton pads. There were 2 beds in the room, one on the left and right side, with a side table at each end. It was surprisingly neat and tidy. I would expect a messy room in a community full of boys but they kept it clean pretty well. I sat on one of the chairs and was left with my thoughts.

Why was I the only girl? Why did I have the scars on my arms? Where were we? What was that dream I had about? I slowly closed my eyes as another memory came.

A girl about 14 sat in a chair in a plain white room. In front of her was a computer with an x-ray of a brain. Her job was to study the brain pattern and waves of the different candidates she was assigned. She looked on her arm, which had a little dragon tattoo over a patch of blotchy skin. She smiled at the tattoo, reminding her that she wasn't alone in all this. Yeah sure, she got into trouble for getting a tattoo, but it was all worth it. Anything was better than seeing a scar of one of her 'tests' on her arm as a constant reminder of the pain she went through.

"Jade?" A small voice asked.

The girl turned around to see a slightly older looking boy.

"Thomas," I smiled. But it soon faltered when I saw him wearing a white lab coat with 'WCKD' on his breast pocket.

"I tried to persuade them," he said sadly.

"They wouldn't take no as an answer," he whispered. I could see myself looked glumly at the computer, with the code 'A7' on it. Next for me to study was A5.

"How are the subjects doing?" Thomas asked softly.

"I want this to end... all of it," I replied, as she saw A5 barely escape a Greiver chasing him. A7's jet black hair was all over the place, with dried blood in clumps on his arm and he just made it into the maze in time. He fell to the ground and rummaged his backpack for water before shakily bringing it to his mouth. It was clear that A5 was traumatised. Tears started to brim as they threatened to spill.

"I can't lose him too," I sobbed.

"Let's just say goodbye to Jack, ok? Its almost his turn to go up the Box," Thomas said softly. I nodded slightly.

Both of us walked out of the room, with Thomas's hand on my shoulder, rubbing it comfortingly as I furiously wiped away the tears. We went into another room, where I saw Jack, another glader-to-be, sitting on a chair while the scientists typed away at the computers, backs to us.

"Hey Jack," I smiled.

"Hey bestie," he teased. A grin started to form on my face before quickly disappearing as I remembered why I was there in the first place.

"Im going to miss you," I mumbled, as I gave him a hug. Jack laughed before wrapping his arms around me.

"Good, you better cry about me every night," he joked. This was what I liked about Jack. He always made things better and generally, brighter, no matter the situation. I let go of his warm body before chatting with him before he had to go.

"Jack, you're ready," a lady spoke from one of the computers. She had gotten up from her chair and had already took Jack by his arm. Jack smiled a sad smile before following her.

"I'll remember you!" Jack shouted over his shoulder, while being dragged further and further away. I smiled a sad smile, knowing that it was untrue. They would wipe out the memories. I looked at my shoes, hair covering my face. They kept taking all the ones I was close to away, just for their dumb experiment. I still remembered the day that Aris was taken away from me. Rachel too.

The memory started to fade before I opened my eyes. I looked at the dragon tattoo on my arm area and smiled a sad smile. What I knew was that someone had helped me get the tattoo and that that someone had meant a lot to me. I also knew that this 'Thomas' character was somehow 'on my side', whatever that meant. I remembered Jack.

But new questions sprouted. Who was Aris? Who was Rachel? What was an experiment? Who was WCKD? Why did I have to take notes on an x-ray of a brain? What notes was I suppose to take? I shook my head to rid of the thoughts and walked to Alby's room. I roughly remember him telling me that if I had remembered anything, it was to tell him what she remembered.

----

"Alby?" I called, as I walked into his room. He was currently on his bed, writing something in a notebook. I knew it was his as I saw his name 'ALBY' messily written on the cover. I almost got hit by his book when I called referred to his handwriting as 'chicken scratch'. I mean, technically, I wasn't lying...

"What do you want, shank?" he asked, not looking up from his notebook.

"I remembered some things..." I started slowly. Alby's head shot up and he signalled for me to sit, by vigorously patting the empty space on his bed. I walked and sat next to him, telling him what I remembered. I started off with where I was, in like a big sterile environment and how there were so many computers with x-rays of brains. I left out the bit about how I got my scars. He wouldn't stop pestering me the first few days, asking me why I had multiple, but not very obvious scars.

I was about to go into detail about  Jack when Minho barged into the room. I looked out the window and saw the sun setting, before the big walls closed for the day, creating a loud screeching sound.

"Ignore him, continue," Alby demanded. He had written down notes on what I had told him.

"So there was... Shuck, I forgot what I was going to say," I said disbelieved. Alby looked disappointed.

"Minho distracted me when he barged in!" I argued.

"You idiot, Minho..." Alby grumbled, as he shut his notebook.

"Hey! Only I get to call him an idiot," I shot back. I was surprised at myself. It almost seemed... natural. Minho and Alby looked at me weirdly, before Alby exited the room. Minho looked at me, with his eyebrows raised.

"Great to know I'm loved," Minho chuckled, a small smile playing on his lips.

I just shook my head and the both of us walked to Frypan's kitchen to collect our dinner. We walked silently with each other and my thoughts were left to wonder.

How did my comment seem familiar? A frown formed on my face, but it sooner disappeared when I saw steak for dinner and Newt waving me over. Ah, my 2 favourite things.
