A/N: The end is near...

Jade POV:

The next few days continued as usual. I was sent to trace out Dan's footsteps with Minho and we found a tank soaked with blood. We stood there in silence, paying our respects to Dan. Even though he did things that were morally wrong, I still felt a twang of guilt. We abandoned his clothing and nodded to each other, mentally telling ourselves that the day was over.

Even though Dan was dead and gone, Newt and Minho became more protective of me. Newt would away make a big fuss of me going into the Maze. He reminded me so much of my mother. Minho had to always carry me into the maze while Newt yelled safety precautions after us. Minho and I would always have a laugh about it.

The huge walls closed with a loud boom, signalling that it was the end of the day. Newt and Minho were lying next to each other as they usually slept like that. I saw them and plopped myself in the middle of them, squeezing in between.

"Can you not?" Minho groaned, rolling to his side.

"Nope," I laughed. I put my head on Newt's chest and heard his steady heartbeat. He moved me so that I was right on top of him, my back to his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and sighed in content. I got bored of looking at the stars and sat up.

I turned around and looked down on Newt, my hands on his chest propping me up. I moved slightly to make myself comfortable and Newt groaned.

"Shuck me," he whispered.

"Hey! No doing the do with my sister!" I heard Minho bark. I saw a slight blush appear on his face and I chuckled.

"Getting a little excited, buddy?" I teased, moving around more on his hips and mine. Newt whined and grabbed my waist to prevent me from moving further. He pushed me off his waist and I fell to the grass. We cuddled and eventually fell asleep.

Dream/vision:

"We need to extract her from the Maze. She is tampering with our result and she may infect the other immune subjects," a scientists said worriedly, scratching his ear as he looked at Ava.

"Do what you must. I cannot let that get in the way," Ava huffed, before bringing Teresa away with her back to her station.

The scientist before turned back to his computer screen, this time studying images of zombie-like creatures. He creased his eyebrows and ran his fingers through his already greying hair. He rubbed his eyes to keep himself awake. From the computer light, you could see his eye bags.

"Sweet sweet Jade, please don't end up like those," he trembled.

How did he know my name?

I took a closer look at those images and it sent a chill down my spine. Black and blue veins protruded from the zombie's neck... Cranks, as they would call it. There was black like liquid, like poisoned blood coming out of his mouth as he sputtered. His skin was blotchy and bits of it were gone, his face red with bruises and scratches. Another image flashed by and I held myself back from crying with fear. This time, the Crank's eyes were gone. They were just black empty sockets (A/N: if you don't know what I'm talking about, look at those in the underground sewer when Thomas and Brenda were walking underground in TST)

The scientist turned around and I gasped in shock. His name tag read 'Milan'. That man didn't even look like him! The Milan I remembered looked lively and younger. This Milan looked dishevelled and exhausted.

"They are sending Thomas up, Jade," he whispered.

- Another vision -

This time, I saw Thomas unconscious on an operating table. He was alone in a room.
