Wait, what? Me? Cool? Haha, I am as awkward as can be. Come on, girl! You got up at 6 AM for this. You showered for this. You put on cocoa butter for this! You stayed up all night perfecting your braid out and spent all morning making sure your 4c burgundy puffs look like a snack!! #maythe4cbewithyou
What would Mom say? "Your father and I pay too much money for you to not go to class on time." Yeah...she would say that. Well, I, Abidemi Dias, daughter of Fola and Eduardo Dias, will...
WALK...
IN!
Lol no I won't.
"So, are you gonna head inside?" A girl walked up to me, her arms holding a biology textbook. She seems...nice. Very perky, social. Opposite of me. She had wavy brown hair, kind-of olive skin, and pink lips with rosy cheeks. She wore a scarf, a yellow sweater over a white school blouse, denim jeans and brown knee high boots. "Trying to. Anxiety is keeping me from accomplishing my goal."
"Same."
"Are you new, too?"
She shook her head. "Nope. I didn't study for my algebra test, so I'm thinking of ways to try and skip it before entering my doom." I chuckled and crossed my arms. "Fake cramps. That has always worked for me."
She gasped and widened her eyes. "Good idea! You're diabolical!"
"More like 'shy-abolical'!" Get it? Because I'm shy with a Darth Kermit in my head? Not funny? Okay....
I held out my hand. "My name's Abidemi Dias but you can call me Abi." She shook mine. "Fatima Kisri."
"And I'm Nina!" That made me jump and go into a fighting stance. I'm a black belt in Mess With Me and You'll Die! "Concepción?" This girl was a bit taller than me, had shiny straight black hair, fair skin, and brown almond shaped eyes. She wore a graphic tee, black leather joggers, and pink creepers. She carried a red backpack. "Hi!"
"Sorry, Abi. Nina tends to be hyper...at all times."
"I don't bite though! So, you new here? Where are you from?"
"I just moved here from Manhattan two weeks ago."
"Wow!" they both went. "That's a long drive. Well, welcome to Stony Brook High. Can I see your schedule?" I took out my schedule and gave it to them. "Hey, you're in our homeroom! Don't worry. Mrs. Argento is so nice," Fatima told me. They both wrapped their arms around my shoulder and we walked to our homeroom.
