"Sirius," I growled, frustration coursing through my veins as I tried to push the boy off of me. Sirius, however just burrowed deeper into the plush red couch I was sitting on, knocking over my homework in the process. "Sirius, I have to finish this essay," I reminded the tall boy, raising my eyebrows expectantly when he finally met my gaze. "I'm tired and I want to go to sleep---"
"Then come sleep," Sirius replied simply, his grey eyes meeting my own.
"I have to finish this essay," I spoke slowly, trying to keep my voice level. "It's due tomorrow and I won't have time before breakfast because I have to send a letter to Maya."
"We don't have Potions until after lunch, finish it then," Sirius reasoned, not moving even the slightest bit from his position.
"I can't," I grumbled, "Remus and I are going to the library." I had recently proposed an idea for something that could make his transformations more bearable when he was on his own, and he had immediately agreed. "Love, please?" I pleaded, glancing at Sirius with tired eyes and hoping he would understand.
"Fine, fine," Sirius sat up, moving towards the other end of the couch, his lips jutting out to form a pout while I gathered up my Potions homework.
"Stop frowning. Or your face will stick like that," I sighed, pressing a quick kiss on his cheek before returning to my homework.
"You're no fun," Sirius grumbled while I shot him a harsh glare. Letting out a groan, the boy stood before heading towards the portrait hole to leave the common room. "I'll be back later."
Sighing in frustration, I ran my hand through my tangled dark hair, contemplating whether or not I wanted to follow the obviously upset boy. Exhaustion won out, and I ended up returning to my Potions homework, vowing to find him as soon as I was finished.

An hour later, I peered down the corridors carefully, my eyes scanning for a familiar head of dark hair. I found him quite quickly, actually. But he wasn't alone. A Ravenclaw girl with very large assets was giggling at something he said, while tangling her hand in his hair. I froze immediately, a pit growing in my stomach as Sirius' grey eyes met my own.
His eyes widened in horror and he opened his mouth to speak, "Tal—." But, I was already running down the familiar hallways back towards the common room and back towards solid ground. I didn't know who the brunette with her tongue down his throat was, but something was perfectly clear in my mind at the time.
His whole act over Christmas was just that, an act. When I thought he was opening up to me, he was in fact, manipulating me. He played me like a record and I fell for it. I should have known it was too good to be true.Swallowing thickly, I turned down the corridor and trudged back towards Gryffindor Tower. Remus immediately spotted the tears in my eyes and stood up frantically motioning to the other two boys who led me up to their dorm room before showering me in hugs and trying to coax the cause of my tears out. So, finally after James wrapped his arm around my shoulders, Remus grabbed my hand, and Peter handed me a chocolate bar (an action that received a teary smile); I told them about the Ravenclaw she spotted Sirius with.
"I'm going to kill him," Remus growled as I mentioned the supposed "feelings" Sirius had displayed over break and during the past week. His eyes flashed dangerously and in that split second I saw the darker side of Remus that he kept hidden until it finally forced its way out during his transformations. He moved to stand and I shook her head, grabbing his hand and pulling him back down onto the bed. I didn't want him to do anything that would make him even more than self- deprecating about his condition than he already was.
"He's not worth it, Rem," I whispered, my voice hoarse. "I don't want to be here when he gets back though," I admitted standing and wiping at my ever changing eyes carefully. James gave me a small smile and Peter offered a tentative wave while Remus wrapped me in a tight hug.
"I love you guys," I murmured, giving them all a small smile before heading towards the girls dormitory to tell the others what I had seen.
