My Angel

First sight

(Genji pov)

The time stretched on as I lay down in my soft bed, my head resting against what I assumed to be a pillow. My body felt slightly numb still as my eyes remained covered up.

I had gone under many intense operations over the past months or so. The soft woman's voice would always be around me, comforting and reassuring me.

Today felt different as I could feel my hands again. It was amazing as I had felt absolutely noting for so long that it felt like forever.

I could move each of my fingers slowly up and down as I felt the bed using my hands. But it felt strange, not like anyway I'd felt before... something was different!

I lay patiently in my bed as I sat blind and numb to the core. I heard the clear sounds of heels of a woman's shoes enter my room. My head turned quickly to face her as I could still not see.

"Well your hearing sure is looking better Genji, you heard me come in instantly" her voice was happy and polite as I heard her sit down comfortably in a chair next to me.

"Today is a big step for you Genji, we will be removing your bandages" she continued, even though I could not see her face I could tell she was smiling at me.

I wanted to smile back but felt the restrain from the tight bandages that covered my face. I faced her slowly as she spoke to me.

"Now we are going to remove your face coverings and I need to check your vocal cords" she said smiling once again with a friendly tone.

"I need you to keep your eyes closed for a moment ok? So don't open them till I tell you" her voice was friendly and confident.

Suddenly I felt her soft hands touch my face as she began to remove the bandages from my mouth and eyes. I kept my eyes closed as she removed them carefully.

I felt scared but confident as she removed the last bandage from my jaw. I felt the sudden rush of the air around me hit my face.

I was filled with a strange sensation as I felt her warm hands touch my soft skin. She quickly checked over my face before giving me the all clear.

"Ok genji take this slow ok?.. your going to be fine and you have to try not to struggle" her voice sounded more serious and slightly worried as she warned me. I nodded quickly to show I understood.

I opened my eyes quickly to see a medical room slowly come info focus. The room rotated slightly as I tried to look around. My head felt dizzy as I blinked frantically.

The woman quickly came into focus, her face was beautiful and perfect. Her hair was gold blonde and held in a neat pony tail but with a large part of hair hanging over the front of her face. She wore a smart doctor's uniform and a white skirt.

She smiled happily down at me as she hoped for my best reaction. I stared down at my body that was tightly strapped down to the bed to prevent me from struggling.

I felt my breath begin to grow heavy as I saw many mechanical parts replacing my body. My sharp green eyes searched my body frantically as I noticed both my hands were completely robotic.

The light reflected off of them as I tried to remain calm. My eyes quickly reached up to the sitting woman. She glanced back slightly shocked as she knew I was confused and scared.

"Genji listen to me, we had to completely reassemble your body into something robotic. I had originally been working on designs for a half human half omnic body..." She said hoping I would understand.

"I honestly couldn't save the rest of your body Genji... I had to do it you see. It's my job" she continued with a slight shyness in her voice.

I glanced up at her softly as I remained calm but still very confused as I tried to find my voice.

"W..who are you and where am ..I?" I said as I heard my new voice for the first time. I felt a drop in my metal heart as it sounded like a omnic's robotic voice. I shot to sudden silence as I wanted to take in my situation.

"My name is Angela Ziegler I'm a doctor for Overwatch, we took you in after the incident with your brother, the commander wanted me to bring you back so you could join us" her voice was German and I felt surprised as I only just noticed.

I felt a feeling of comfort as she seemed reassuring and honest. Her image gave me an innocent feel to her as she seemed as beautiful as an angel.

"And I was the one who resurrected you when you died" Angela's voice was sweet as she continued to sit happily next to me on the bed.

"Wait your an angel?" I said slightly confused.

"Well I'm not a real angel but in field I'm also known as Mercy and I have mechanical angel like wings to help me to fly" Angela's voice was happy as she felt complimented.

"I need you to run a couple of tests with me ok? They won't hurt I promise" her voice was like a perfectly written song to me as I listened closely and followed her instructions.
