Turns out, I actually could get bored here. It had been two days since I've last seen Kellin Quinn, and I had just run out of food, so I made the assumption that he'd be back around pretty soon. I laid on my back and counted the seconds, literally. At first the blunt awe of being in space without an uncomfortable suit was amazing. Unfortunately, there was literally nothing to do, and I was just hoping that Kellin would show up soon.
My guess of him showing up around the time I needed food was right, and a couple of hours and a nap later, he was poking me awake. "Hey, sleepy head. All you ever do is sleep. Honestly, exercise or something."
I sat up and rolled my tired eyes. "Yeah, I'll run this twenty feet a few times. I'm sure that'll be fun."
"Well aren't you a bundle of joy?" Kellin said cheekily. He handed me a couple of packs of food, as well as an iPod Shuffle, and a brush. I looked at the shuffle and an idea formed in my head.
"Hey... You think you could get me a guitar?"
Kellin looked at me and shrugged. "Possibly. Well, I don't know. That's pretty uncommon 'round these parts."
I nodded. "Yeah. That's fine, I was just wondering." I looked at him and I chuckled when I noticed that his black hair was tied up in a man-bun. That was so cute. And, the was that the light was shining on his delicate features, I couldn't help but smile.
Wait. What? Kellin wasn't cute, right? At least, I don't think I should think of my captor as attractive in any way. Kellin must of noticed my stunned expression.
"What?" He questioned.
I shrugged. "Uh, nothing... Just, nice bun, there, Kells." My face erupted into a bright blush. Why, why, where did that even come from? I cleared my throat and looked away.
Kellin laughed. "Hey, where did you get the idea that you can call me Kells? You seem to forget that I can eat you at any moment."
A frown spread across my lips, but I rolled my eyes. "Sure, but you're not going to. You enjoy my company."
He smirked and showed off his razor sharp teeth. "What ever you say. That is, until you try and escape..."
"What? Me?" I asked with a mocking high voice, before chuckling. "On the real, though, how would I possibly escape? I don't have any way to get back to earth."
Kellin twitched his fin dismissively. "It's always what it comes down to..."
"What-" I began forming a sentence before I was distracted by a giant shadow coming out of the dark towards us. Fear filled me and I gave Kellin a questioning look. "Hey.. Were you expecting someone?"
"Huh?" He asked before looking in the direction that the creature was coming towards us. His already pale complexion seemed to go even paler and I stood up in a sudden panic. If it scared Kellin, a man eating being, than it sure as hell was gonna scare the living shit out of me.
"Oh, fuck what is that?"
Kellins face contorted into a look of pure terror as the giant got closer and closer. I could just start making out details, like the blood thirsty eyes and a large slobbering mouth, with fangs as long as Kellin and I combined hanging out it's mouth. It had a body closest to what I'd call a lion, but with a fish tail and fins. Razor sharp claws dangled from its front paws.
My body began trembling and I noticed Kellin take a deep breath before hoisting himself up and preparing to go out to open space. What did he think he was gonna do to that thing? "The hell are you doing?" I yelled, my voice cracking from the lack of me actually using it a lot lately.
"Just stay here, okay?" He asked. His voice trembled and he sounded tired. I could tell he was tired, as he pushed off and propelled himself towards the creature from hell. Kellin seemed to be glowing, which was something I'd never seen before.
He swam at crazy speeds towards the lion, distracting it. Kellin dove below the animal and went to the side. He screamed, causing me to fall to my knees and cover my ears, screeching right back. I forced myself to look up and was stunned to see Kellin blasting a light blue stream of something at the monster from nightmares. Suddenly the scream died away and Kellin was panting, the stream of light fading away. The lion-fish took this opportunity to hit Kellin with his tail, propelling himself onto the island.
"Kellin!" I screamed, running towards him. He had small scratches on him from the sand, and they covered his whole body. "Oh my fuck, Kellin!" He sat up and pushed me away from him.
"I told you to stand away!" He yelled angrily at me.
"Well I'm not just gonna stand here and watch you die like a fucking helpless school girl
"Well that's exactly what you are here," He said, exasperated. I rolled my eyes before shouting a warning as the lion made impact with the island. If I had something to fight this beast with I could help out in killing it.
Almost as soon as I thought that I tripped over something. I looked down and gasped. It was a sword. Immediately, I picked it up and Kellin started his screeching up again. My ears rang and my vision got fuzzy as tried to focus through the screeching. It was near impossible, but I forced myself forward, towards the creature.
It was distracted, looking at Kellin, when I stabbed it in the eyes. I plunged the sword in up until the hilt touched the animals scaly skull. It writhed in pain and I was thrown off and my hand was off the island. I pushed myself back up until I was completely in the island as the creature died in front of me and Kellin.
"Huh," Kellin muttered. "What took you so long?"
