Chapter 10

Mary POV

How does this woman not know? I thought as Andrea guided us down the path. Although Taylor and I don’t look alike I was her foster daughter. We would look alike if she was my biological mother but we don’t as she’d adopted me and my biological mother was either out in the world not wanting anything to do with me or dead. I love Taylor and I’m grateful that she adopted me and that I can call her my foster mother with the hope of calling her my mom one day. Has she not seen the news? I thought. Although I’m not allowed to google myself or Taylor I know that I’ve been in the news because it’s not like people don’t write articles about everything that Taylor does.

Being part of Taylor’s life now I knew that there must be something on me out there. Taylor has also told me multiple stories about how irritating she finds the paparazzi that follow her around when she’s in LA. I knew that I would have something to do with the reason which she’s turned down several opportunities or events in LA. She doesn’t want me to be pestered by the paparazzi or be in the spotlight when I’m still adjusting to her lifestyle. If she could have her way then I wouldn’t be able to be pestered by the paparazzi at all but she can only restrict it so much and we’re going to have to go LA at some stage. However I did feel guilty as I was keeping her away from meeting up with her friends who either lived in LA or were staying in LA as they didn’t want to come or weren’t able to come to Nashville.

Andrea led us out into a clearing and I was amazed at the number of people who were involved with a photo-shoot. I’d though it was just going to be Taylor with a few others for like Make up and the camera man. But there were like 75 people milling around doing things.

“Mary!!!” I heard someone call to me to which I spotted Taylor moving towards me wearing short shorts and a large jumper to keep her warm. Obviously she’d just come away from shooting in this lovely location which had a shallow river and a forest sort of look.

“Taylor” I smiled running towards her to give her a hug. I may be 13 but I’m not too old to give anyone a hug especially Taylor. I’d missed Taylor when she left this morning but I knew that choosing to go with Grant and Lulu had been the better decision. I loved the things which Taylor and I get up to as they are always so much fun but just a little crazy.

“Were you good for Grant and Claire?” Taylor asked and I nodded as I’d enjoyed getting to know Lulu’s mom and Grant’s girlfriend as I’d not met her before. She seemed nice and friendly which was good.

“Was she alright Grant?” Taylor asked as I led her back to where Grant and Lulu were standing talking to Andrea.

“She was fine. Lulu enjoyed their conversation about where Mary is going to school and what she’s going to get up to, didn’t you Lu?” Grant asked to which Lulu nodded. I’ve only known Lulu about a week and yet I wouldn’t want anything to happen to Lulu. She was like my little sister and I loved her to death.

“I only have one more location to shoot at. Then I was thinking that as you’ve come all the way out here to see me and I’ve got the rest of the day off, do you want to go and our own afternoon of fun?” Taylor asked smiling.

“How? Mommy told me I’m not to get this dress dirty” Lulu said and I didn’t really want to get my outfit wrecked either.

“Well I brought my camera and I thought we could just take photos together as I’ve not got many photos of Mary and no recent ones of you Lulu. But we could just go bowling if you would rather do that?” Taylor asked. Whilst I wanted to go bowling I didn’t want to go on a nice day like today was, I would much rather go and take photos with everyone. I really wanted to have one with Taylor and I which I could place in a photo frame. I could place it on my desk next to the one of my biological mother as then I would have a photo of both my moms.

Grant POV

Is this a good idea? How am I going to restrain myself? I thought whilst we waited for the girls to make a decision with what they wanted to do. I didn’t mind what their decision was but I did prefer bowling over the photo-shoot because it would be able to make sure that I don’t do something that I might regret. But I knew lulu loves to take photos or have photos taken of her as Claire is always taking photos to place on her Instagram and Twitter. I knew that there was more chance they would choose the photo-shoot over bowling.

“Oh I love photo’s, photo-shoot please” Lulu said to which Mary agreed with excitement.

“Well I’ve got to go change before we go to the last location and then we can go have the photo-shoot when I get back” Taylor smiled before being ushered to get changed and I could tell that Mary wanted to go with her. However it would be better for Mary to stay here with Lulu and I as she would be in the way if she went too. I couldn’t confess my love for Taylor now- especially not here with Lulu around. Lulu thought that I loved her mom and only saw Taylor as a friend which was partially true. I do love Claire but I see Taylor as more than a friend though I don’t have the guts to act on that.  I don’t have the guts to act on something unless I am able to get proof that Taylor likes me the way that I like her- more than a friend. I couldn’t see that happening unless Mary told me that Taylor likes me or Taylor confesses. Neither of which I could see happening anytime soon.

The last location for the photo-shoot was in the little cottage which was just over the hill in front of base camp. Taylor took the girls with her to the photo-shoot but I knew it would be too hard for me to restrict myself in the room when I know that she’ll look stunning. Besides we were only really at the shoot for Mary and Lulu to see Taylor work and how everything panned out so it didn’t matter if I didn’t go to the location or not.

Half an hour later, all three girls came back to where I’d found a nice place in the shade to take a nap. Taylor had changed into her civilian clothes and knew exactly where would be the best place for us to spend the rest of the afternoon. She’d brought her Polaroid Camera which allowed us to have an actual copy of the photo which we took about 3 minutes after we’d taken it. Taylor held Mary’s hand in hers and Mary held Lulu’s hand as we walked over to the field behind where the cars were parked.

“Well I love this field and I think it’s perfect but what do y’all think?” Taylor asked to which I knew that she was asking the girls rather than me as I didn’t really care about the location.

“Can Lulu and I have a photo then you and Grant have one?’ Mary asked and Taylor nodded. Their photo was perfect with Mary bending down to Lulu’s height and they just hugged each other. Taylor made sure that she took two of that photo so that both Mary and Lulu would be able to keep one. The next photo was of Taylor and I but was taken by Mary after Taylor had given her instructions on how to use the camera. Taylor never really takes smiling/nice photos when she’s out with any of her friends. She always likes to muck around in them or pull funny faces. For this photo she made the pose like we did during the Fearless Tour where she held her hand up like she didn’t want to talk to me to which an annoyed pose. I asked Mary to take a nice photo of Taylor and I afterwards as I wanted to be able to have a nice photo to look back on but it worked as Mary wanted a nice one too.

Once the film had run out about an hour later we knew that it was time to go home. It wasn’t like we wouldn’t see them again soon. Taylor had her webcast in 2 days which I had agreed to go to as all the band were going to go. But for Lulu it would be a little longer before she could hang out with Mary again. However Mary promised that when she wants to go shopping again then she would be sure to invite Lulu to come with her as she needed a fashion expert like Lulu with her. Lulu loves clothes and everything to do with fashion which is why she jumped up and down at the chance to go shopping with Mary and Taylor.
