Chapter 14

Taylor POV
I couldn’t believe it, I’d done something that I never thought that I would ever get to do in my wildest dreams. I kissed Grant and it felt right, it felt magical when his lips touched mine. Why was it that something so wrong felt so right? I’ve got no idea what I’m going to do though as he has a girlfriend and his step daughter happens to have just come out of hospital. It’s hardly right of me to take Claire’s man after she’s been in a car accident and her daughter is recovering from having surgery whilst also has to cope with a broken leg. I couldn’t believe the fact that the feelings that I have for Grant, he also has for me. But where do I go from here? I thought as I lay staring at the ceiling with Meredith sleeping beside me on the bed.

It’s been a week since the kiss and I’ve not spoken to Grant, in fact I’ve not really spoken to anyone in my band. Mary’s been keeping in contact with Lulu and I’ve allowed her to go visit her in the hospital. I’d simply drop her off as she knew where to go and wait in the car till she returned. Grant has texted a couple of times but I’ve not responded as I don’t know what the kiss meant and I didn’t want to do something wrong whilst I was still figuring it all out. I mean he kissed me but does that mean he loves me? Was he just in a mixed state with his feelings considering everything going on with Lulu? I knew I would have to see I’m tomorrow when we film the music video for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together but I had to clear everything up before that or it was simply going to be a disaster. I needed to know where we stand and what that kiss meant to him.

T: You free this afternoon? We need to talk I texted knowing Mary was going to my parent’s place this afternoon as mom wanted to hear about how school was considering Mary had started school yesterday. I wouldn’t have to pick her up till later before dinner unless she stayed with my parents for dinner then mom would probably just drop her home or I would pick her up. One thing I made sure that mom knew when she asked if she could look after Mary for me this afternoon was that she make sure Mary does her homework. I will not have any daughter of mine slack off on homework and I want her to be able to reach her full potential.
G: I’m looking after Lulu till about 4:30, we could talk after or you could just come round with Mary after school? Grant responded. Whilst I knew that Mary would love to go and see Lulu now that she’s home from the hospital I also knew that she’d love to be with my parents this afternoon. There was no point in cancelling when I knew that Mary wouldn’t care that she didn’t see Lulu but went to her “foster grandparents” place instead. I couldn’t just go round to Grant’s without Mary and especially considering that the content which we would be talking about is not really suitable for Lulu it just wouldn’t be right.

T: How about Coco Café at 5? Mary is with my parents so I’m flexible  I texted hoping that it I wasn’t going to meet with Grant till 5 then mom would want to have Mary for dinner and I would pick her up afterwards as I couldn’t see me being done before dinner time anyway.
G: Sounds good, I’ll see you then Grant texted back and I smiled at the thought that we were going to go out for dinner together later alone to discuss “the kiss”. I knew that still needed to check with Mom if she could have Mary for dinner.
T: Mom, could you give Mary dinner? I’ll pick her up after it’s just something’s come up I texted moving off the bed into the kitchen to make lunch. I knew that the best way to get my head around everything is to do what any girl does best and that’s to shop- it was time for retail therapy after lunch as it was my day off.

A: Sure, I was wondering if she would anyway. What time will you pick her up or do you want me to drop her home? Mom texted back and I didn’t know how long I would be out with Grant for but I had to take a guess at what time I would be back but it wouldn’t be that late. I knew that Mary loved being with Mom and wouldn’t mind if I was out later than we’d planned. But I couldn’t be out too late as I did have to get her home to bed as she had to go to school tomorrow. I’d originally planned for her to come with me to the film set for the music video tomorrow but as it was her first week of school, I knew that it would be better to send her to school so she can settle in. It wasn’t like she’d mind anyway as she’ll come with me to other events.
T: I’ll pick her up about 7. Can you make sure that she’s done her homework I texted hoping that mom would be as tough on her with the homework as she was with me when I became home schooled. I knew I had to go out otherwise I wouldn’t get anything done and we wouldn’t have any food to eat as I had to go to the grocery store.
