Chapter 19

Taylor POV

Grant came home from the hospital a couple of days ago and it had been nice to kind of just adjust to the fact that we’re a couple and we’re just adjusting to being together. I’m due to fly out to LA tomorrow afternoon so that I can go to the rehearsals for the VMA's. That is before the actual performance on the VMA's of my new single We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. It was going to be a performance a lot like my music video, I mean there will be the woodland creatures but also I want to do something different, I want to include my fans in anyway which might be possible. This would be followed by the Stand Up to Cancer telethon the next day which I was scheduled to perform a new song Ronan. I’d had inspiration from reading a blog by  a mother who’d lost her son to Brain cancer Mary was going to stay here rather than coming with me because she wanted to stay and go to school considering she was comfortable at school now and she doesn’t want to miss out on work for like 3 days when she’ll be missing out on a week when we go to New York next month not to mention the other places which have already come up on the calendar before my album even comes out.  Grant had been advised against travelling very far because of his ribs and the time they are going to take to heal not to mention the pain which travelling will cause. He would be home and look after Mary for me whilst I was away, there were elements about leaving those two alone I wasn’t too sure about but you’ve got to take a jump and give them a chance which will be over the next couple of days.

I leave tomorrow afternoon and I know that Mary really wants to invite her friends over so that they can just hang out, I’d told her to invite them round this afternoon as we didn’t have anything planned and it wouldn’t be a hassle to me. I was going to pick them up from school, we’d go for ice-cream, then head back to my place where they would stay till after dinner and then their parents would come pick them up. We were going for ice cream as it was Mary’s favourite food ever since she’d tried it for the first time with Grant, Lulu and I at the ice cream parlour. Before their parents came to pick them up I would make sure that they had all their homework done as I knew that if Mary was go over to any of her friend’s house and stay for as long as her friends were today, I would want her homework done.

I’d spent the morning after Mary left for school at my record label considering that they wanted to talk to me about my new album and the performances which I would be doing in the next couple of days. They particularly wanted to talk about all the things which have started to be planned for Release Week and the different events which will occur during our week in NYC.  It was a lot for me to process and it would be even more for Mary to process when I tell her later as I always keep her in the loop with places I have to go or venues I will perform at.

I knew that Grant would be on the couch as I could see the television on through the lounge room window as I pulled up at the house. I wasn’t mad that he was out of bed considering he was still resting but he’ll be back in the bed this afternoon as it wouldn’t be good for him to be on the couch and restricting the girls enjoying themselves this afternoon. I was really excited for Mary to be having her friends round this afternoon as she’s been going to that school for about a week and has already established 2 best friends and a few others who she chats to whilst she’s at school Another bonus about her new friends is the fact that they understand that there are going to be times where Mary will be pulled out of school because we’re in another country or state because I’ve got to do a performance or attend an event. Mary told me the past couple of days when we were talking about school and her friends that both Mariah and Stella were massive fans of mine. However that made me worry a little about whether they were just using Mary to get to meet me or whether they were actually her friends – but I guess we will have to see.
