Chapter 29
Grant POV
Every venue no matter whether it’s a theatre, arena or a stadium is different; it has a different layout, different audience capacity and different entrances or exits. To any adult that is a little daunting if you’ve never been there before but you pick up your bearings on where things are relatively quickly and you take note of the way to go a certain way if you have to go or come back from somewhere. However to any kid or even a young teen like Mary the venue is so much bigger to you than an adult and if you’re not used to venues this big or doing performances so often then it could be quite a daunting experience.
I went to some concerts when I was younger but I never went alone and when had to I was much older than Mary is now. I knew that she’s still here but I didn’t know where because I imagine that she’s gotten herself lost by accident because she didn’t know the way to go. I knew that she would have been alright if Bobby had waited for her after buying the drinks for the crew. There were several kiosks in this venue and there were even more toilets located both inside and outside the venue. All of this information added an unlimited amount of possibilities as to where Mary could be but as it was only one floor then there I knew we would find her.
“Taylor and I will check round the front at the kiosks to see if they’ve seen her and have an idea of where exactly she is now. Caitlin and Melanie, you’ll check the toilets because that’s where Bobby said Mary went but hasn’t come back from and it makes sense that two women do it because she won’t have gone to the men’s. Amos and Paul, you stay back here in case she comes back here as we want someone here that she knows and feels safe with. Everyone else who’s willing to help search, you look outside as she could have gone outside to the bathroom and although I highly doubt it, it’s worth a look. Most importantly make sure that you all have your phones with you so we can be in contact with each other” I explained whilst holding Taylor close as I knew that she was silently crumbling at the thought of not getting Mary back and failing as a foster mom which wasn’t the case as we would find her.
“She’s probably going to be scared and a little shaken about it all as she doesn’t like crowds much, whenever you find her please text me...I just need to get her back” Taylor said and I could hear the emotion in her voice, she was really taking all of this hard but I couldn’t understand why because she wasn’t to blame for this. We weren’t to know that something like this would happen which is why it couldn’t have been prevented.
“Are you sure that’s a smart idea? It’s only been 45 minutes since the show ended, there will probably be fans around still and seeing Taylor out there will only cause more problems” A security man asked and I nearly lost my temper at him. He was security so it was his job to protect Taylor and I knew that she wouldn’t stay back here no matter how much they may have wanted her to.
“I don’t care about that, Mary is my daughter and I need to find her. I’m not staying back here” Taylor exclaimed before taking my hand and we all broke up to go our separate ways, I was grateful that no-one else questioned it as I knew that Taylor would have probably lost it at them.
We walked round the front of the arena to begin our search, I know we were trying to keep our relationship secret from the press and everyone but in this situation I really didn’t care. I didn’t want let Taylor out of my grasp as I knew that she was unstable and by the hold she has on my hand she was thinking the same thing. We walked up to the first kiosk and asked if they had seen Mary, Taylor even had a photo of Mary on her phone but sadly they’d not seen her or anyone who looked similar. The next few gave us the same answer which didn’t help in how Taylor was feeling but I knew there would be one here that would have seen her, it was just the case of finding which one and getting to Mary.
