"You alright brother?"
William sat in the car outside the meeting place, holding a walkie talkie to communicate with Merlin while he was inside telling everyone.
"Remind me why I had to wait outside?" He asked with a sigh, the boredom was killing him.
"Cause I'm less likely to piss people off and or start a fight."
There was that, which made a little sense.
"Just relax man, I got a few of our buddies in on this, including Cody and Joe."
That was good news. Cody was a friend of theirs from back when they were kids, he was really good with computers and electronics.
Not to mention he was a grade A smartass.Joe was a different story. They were all still friends but he liked never putting forth all his effort and boasting about how he could do better then he did, and it bugged the shit out of William, but he was also one of his most loyal and best friends.
He started thinking back to the old days, when he first met everyone and how everything changed in highschool. They found out about their abilities, but, it was also a very emotional time for all of them.
It was there that William fell in love with the most amazingly girl he'd ever seen, who made him happier then anything, giving him the confidence to feel invincible.
Without thinking he pulled out the picture of the two of them at a ball for the military program he was in. She looked like an angel, her beautiful dark brown hair in a bun, her lovely blue tinted eyes, matched by her teal blue dress. In his eyes she walked like a God among men around everyone, and he never looked at another girl, not even once.
A tear slid down his cheek as he remembered when they slow danced, how happy she was and how lucky he felt, to be with a girl who didn't look down on him, Didn't see him as lacking except to mess with him, and always looked at him with love, like he was everything she could wish for.He kissed the picture before putting it in his pocket. He wiped away the tear and had a calming breath.
I'm in love...
He never stopped being in love. He still kept in touch with her, if she needed anything he was only a call or text away. He never could tell if she knew that he still cared about her, or if she still felt for him the way she use to...If she would ever take him back...
He stepped out of the car to take a deep breath of the cold September air. No sooner had he done that then Merlin, Cody, amd Joe came out of the building. He couldn't help but smile at the site of his old buddies.
"Hey guys, long time no-" he was cut off when Cody tackled him, which hurt like a bitch considering he was 6'2 and weighed two-sixty. His dark brown hair was hidden under a backwards black baseball cap with his name on it in gold stitching. He wore a red t-shirt and blue jeans, along with his usual black work boots.
"Gotcha." He said with a smile, reaching a hand out to help him up. Instead, William sweeped his legs, knocking him on his ass.
"No you didn't." He said with a smile. They both laughed and stood up, giving each other a fierce hug. They both turned and Joe got one too...
An ass kicking that is.
"The fuck was that for!?" Joe said after sitting up on the ground. They both smiled and offered him a hand. He took them and after getting up, smacked both of them on the back of the head. That would have started round two had Merlin not let out a long, attention-grabbing whistle.
"If you idiots are done being five and fighting on the playground," he said giving them all an unimpressed stare, "can we please go and deal with the lycan mob boss that is currently trying to kill us? Unless you want to try with me, I'm down."
All three of them looked at each other and nodded, then charged Merlin who almost screamed like an eight year old girl. Merlin was able to shove Cody away, but William crashed into his chest and Joe dove into his legs, sending all of them down to the ground. They rolled around laughing and punching at each other for a few minutes before getting up and back to business.
Joe laughed, "Good to see you idiots again. how long has it been? Two? Three years?"It was true, it had been a hell of a long time. Too long honestly, they should have called them and met up, if for no other reason then to hang out. "Sorry brother, had alot going on, my fault," William said with a sad smile, "what have you guys been up to?"
"I hacked into Google and stole about two hundred thousand dollars."
Merlin and William exchanged a look before staring at Cody, who shrugged innocently. "Hey, they should have had better firewalls and security measures. If anything I did them a favor and showed them some of the holes in their system."
Joe chuckled, and patted him on the shoulder. They walked towards the car talking more about all the things that had happened, Merlin also including the issue at the house. They both stood staring slack jaw at Merlin, "You got knocked out?" He gave them an angry look, a warning to shut up before he knocked them out.
"So, Will, you still got that picture?" Cody asked with a wicked smile as he froze dead in his tracks. He told Cody about it before, but never Merlin or Joe...
They both walked up and put their arms on both his shoulders, "Picture?" They said in sequence.
I'm gonna kill you Cody...
They both nodded to each other before flipping William on the ground and trying to pin him while searching his pockets.
Beyond pissed, William kicked Joe in the stomach, sending him back a few feet. But Merlin was right on top of him and had the picture in his hands. Before he could open it and see William smashed his elbow into his nose. He pulled back holding his hand over his face while Cody stepped in and snagged the picture off the ground, opening it.
William was about to attack but knew he already saw it, so he stood in defeat. Joe and Merlin went over to see it over his shoulders, Merlin still holding his nose. The smiles on their faces almost instantly faded as William looked away, a fresh tear going down his cheek.
"Brother..." Merlin looked at him with raw sympathy in his eyes, the blood still pouring a little out of his nose, but he didn't care. Joe walked over and squeezed his shoulder, "I'm sorry, we didn't know. I never would have even tried to if I knew it was of you two man." His words were full of sadness and love.
Cody handed the picture to him and they all patted him on the back. Then suddenly, Merlin smiled.
"Cody, call her."
"Huh?" He looked at him, surprised that he'd even consider that.
She was head guard to the queen of the lycans, after all. That wasn't an easy task and they all saw the raw emotion in William's face as he heard those words. He was covered in fear, and joy.
"We can ask her if she wants to join us," Merlin said with a lopsided grin,"it will give them time to catch up."
"Why wait?"William froze, his heart beat quickened to the point where he thought it would explode, and his legs felt like they would give out any second. Meanwhile the other three were looking at the pillar next to the entrance of the hall, where there stood an absolute angel of a women.
And the only one that could bring William to his knees.
