<William>
Ugh this still sucks...
He sucked in his breathe as he woke up slowly, his chest stinging terribly. He looked around the room and froze before a giant smile broke across his face and he saw what was snuggled up against him.
"I guess it wasn't a dream." He moved a stray piece of hair from Scarlet's face, god she looked amazing. For a moment he completely forgot about his chest wound, savoring the feeling of her against him.
"Mmmm." She snuggled closer and wrapped her arms around him, starting to wake up slowly. William's heart picked up speed as her eyes opened little by little, looking up at him. She stared up at him for a few seconds before her eyes snapped open and she practically flew out of the bed. He had to stop himself from laughing as her face turned red.
"Morning." She bit her lip which made him feel like he'd never stop smiling.
"Hi."
"Sleep well?"
She smiled and teased, "Maybe, you were pretty comfy."
"I know, you were holding me pretty close."
She turned even more red, which he didn't think was possible. While she stretched he noticed that the bruises were still on her face but all the cuts were stitched...
And that she was in the same clothes from the rescue.
"Didn't get another set of clothes?"
"I'll live."
"I know you will, but you should still be comfortable." She smiled and came next to the bed, leaning over him, their faces only a few inches apart. She looked him up and down, "You don't look so comfortable either."
"I'm in a hospital bed."
"I was too a few minutes ago, remember?"
"Can't lie, liked it when you were." He leaned up slowly, but stopped and pulled back. She seemed upset by that and concerned.
"What's wrong?"
"I messed up... a lot... and did a lot of stupid things that I shouldn't have. I don't wanna do that again... I don't wanna hurt you or make you angry like I did. I don't want us to be the way we were before, I want us to be better."
"Then let's take it slow, see how it goes." He smirked at that, looking her up and down, "You're the one who likes to play with fire."
"You love it."
"Absolutely." He leaned up again and kissed her. The second their lips touched Williams body felt like it was on fire, in a good way. His heart raced and he felt himself getting drunk off the passion. He pulled back to look into her eyes, the same fire was there. The fire he lived to see.
He'd die to see.His eyes were still fixed in hers when he heard someone clear their throat in the doorway.
If I wasn't in a hospital bed with an angel in front of me I swear I'd knock that smug look off his face...
And he could tell Merlin's grin grew when he saw in his eyes what he didn't say.
"You two are cozying back up, aren't you?" His grin couldn't have gotten bigger as Scarlet blushed red and walked out of the room.
"You're an asshole." William's words were sharp as knives behind his clenched teeth.
"Awe but 'you love it'."
"I'm gonna fucking kill you if you don't tell me what you want."
"To make sure you're ok." His face was serious as he said those words. Stepping forward he held out the black box William had when they went into Karma's house. He placed it on in his lap and sat in the chair opposite side of Scarlet's.
"So what did I walk in on?"
"The happiest moment of my life." He couldn't hold his smile in anymore, he never felt happier. It felt like everything was going to be ok and even better then before.
"Careful, brother. I know you love her. That you've even been dreaming about her. Don't rush this."
"I won't man, but..." he picked up the black box and opened it, pulling out the necklace, "I'm giving this to her. It belongs to her."
He sighed and nodded, knowing it was pointless to argue about it. He walked out of the room and smiled, Scarlet was waiting just outside.
"He really wants to see you. You can go back in."
William's heart raced as he quickly hid the necklace in his hand and closed the box, just before she walked in.
"What are you doing?" Those suspicious eyes always made his heart race, and scared the shit out of him. He couldn't ever hide anything.
"Nothing."
"Liar. What's in the box?"
"Come and see."
She walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, taking the box from him. She turned her back to him as she opened it and he sat up, right behind her.
"Its empty." She seemed even more suspicious now.
"No, its not." He slowly placed the necklace around her, scooting back after getting it on. She reached her hand up and felt it, staring at William.
"I wanted to give it to you before but... I never found the right ti-" his words were cut off as she kissed him. When she pulled back she bit her lips to stop from smiling, "I love it, thank you."
"I'm glad you do."
"I talked to the nurse, you can leave whenever you're ready to go."
His heart raced as he thought of the one question he really wanted to ask, and finally mustered the courage to, "Are you coming too?"
"Why wouldn't I?" He smiled and wrapped his arms around her. He really felt happy, truly happy.
And he hoped it would last.
