China's POV

"So that commences our meeting..." America ranted on.

The other countries were already packing up. I sighed. Another long meeting has come to an end. Finally.

I glanced around at the others. England and America were fighting, as usual. France was interjecting his unwanted comments. Aiya, these Europeans do love to fight, don't they? Beside me, Russia was smiling away, his eyes closed, as if he was in another world. I'm not quite sure if this is a good or a bad thing.

Italy, on the other side of the table, was dozing away. A burly man with piercing blue eyes shook him awake. "Italia! Time to go!" Italy was immediately jolted out of his dreamland. "Germany? What did I miss? What did I miss?"

"No, you did not miss much. Only America talking about the effects of global warming and -"

A quiet, calm voice rang out in the sea of voices, the confusion.

I dared not look at the speaker. I feared him. What he had done to me...

Japan.

I must do this. I must do this. I shall look at him, square in the eye, show him I'm not afraid of him. I must do it...now.

I jerked my head up quickly, staring into those emotionless brown eyes I hated.

Japan looked up, startled at the sudden movement he probably had seen at the corner of his peripheral vision. That guy never misses anything.

His eyes met mine. I saw them flicker.

Was it my imagination, or did I see a trace of guilt bordering those rings?

Japan tossed his head as if he had noticed nothing. Nothing of his interest.

My eyes, however, were glued to the same place. I couldn't, couldn't snap myself out of this horror that held me rooted to my seat. His eyes. I remember......He was so little back then.

The first time we met...

(CLIFFHANGER!! Hi fam, I have decided, after messing about with random stuff, to start writing a Japan x China fanfiction - *and to stick with it until the end.* This is gonna be hard. #resolutionsfor2017*notreally* Well, I don't really follow the plot of Hetalia in this story so this pretty much me just writing a story of how Japan and China were brothers but then drifted apart. This story is a lot like England and America tho...I only started watching Hetalia this year so please bear with all the cringy stuff Japan/China does *blahblahblah*. I don't really care if you like or subscribe or vote or comment *actually I do* just enjoy this fanfic and whatever. I should shut up now. TNT out.)
