I wrapped my coat around me tighter as I reached the border of Russia's place. My bones are not so used to this chill...
"Stop!" A guard called out to me and positioned his rifle.
I held up my hands in a surrender position. "I'm China-aru. I mean no harm-aru. I've been invited by Russia to come over for a drink-aru." Aiya, the security at Russia's is as tight as ever.
"Hmmm..."The guard thought.
"I have the letter to prove it-aru." I held out the envelope and tossed it over to the guard.
He opened it up and took a magnifying glass to inspect Russia's signature.
Just then, I saw a flash of white, appear behind the guard. And no, it wasn't snow.
"Mr. Plisetsky...thank you for your security, but I here invited China over...please let him pass...da?" A gentle voice sounded.
The guard turned pale. "Yes...Russia sir." He withdrew his rifle and motioned for me to pass.
Russia smiled. "China! Good to see you, da!"
"Mmm. Good to see you too, Russia-aru." I replied, bringing out a case of bai jiu. "This is for you, Russia-aru."
"Thank you." Russia accepted my gift and pointed the way to the closest bar. "Shall we go, da?"
---
"It's nice to do this once in awhile-aru..."I sighed as Russa poured me a glass of hot vodka.
"Uh huh." Russia agreed. He took a long sip from his own glass. "So, China, tell me, what's been bothering you, da? You seem pretty dreamy at times, da?"
"Um..." I inwardly squirmed and tried to change the topic. "Russia, the security at your place is so strict, is it hard for other countries to travel here-aru?"
"Hmmm, is the security that bothering you, da? I thought it has slackened ever since the KGB 'died' out, da?" Russia empathized on the word died. "And on the other hand, many countries don't come by as much as I would like them to. Except for Belarus." He cringed. "She's a bit of a pain at times, da!"
"Mmm. Siblings are annoying-aru, aren't they?" I didn't register what had popped out of my mouth until a few seconds later. Did I consider Japan - a pain?
"Anyway, what's with you, China, da?" Russia reverted back to the original subject. Aiya. Looks like there's no escaping this one.
"Well..." I took a long breath. "It's Japan-aru. I can't stop thinking about him-aru."
