Monday, both Jaehyun and Doyoung had to report for their junior squad training while Haechan and Winwin went off for their hockey practice on the opposite side of the school. in a typical sports school, all sorts of sports facilities like a pool, courts and even an ice skating rink was supplied by the government. however, their education system follows exactly the same as a normal college's.

while the four boys were all busy with their things, Jeno and Jaemin awkwardly went to the track together.

" so... i know its been like 5 months since we stepped in but we rarely talked to each other unlike Jaehyun hyungie and another hyung who only each other for less than a month and are already so close its more than sunbae-hoobae relationship. why dont we just normally talk? " Jeno chose his words carefully to avoid awkwardness. he really wanted to talk to Jaemin like the kids at their school would normally do with their sports mate after a while, but it took the two 5 months and nothing has yet to happen.

" uhm... just... give me time Jeno. i promise i'll talk ok? dont worry about it for now im really a socially awkward person, " Jaemin blurted out. how quick his response was shocked him because he didnt know he answered faster than before. he didnt hesitate nor stammer like with anyone else. probably this Lee Jeno meant something to him?

Jeno sighed, and walked off quickly in the direction of the start of the track to avoid any more confusion. Jaemin was stunned, but nonetheless did his runs after setting his bag down and stretching.

why does my heart always feel this way around him? whats wrong with you Jeno?! snap out of it and just talk like you normally do !!!

Jeno jogged along the 800m track, speeding up at times then slowing down to apparently maintain his pace. he couldnt let such thoughts into his head at that time of training, and he didnt want to make it obvious he somewhat had a thing for Jaemin being around him.

the poor boy, on the other hand, just followed his other mates around, ever so once staring into the distance to catch a glimpse of Jeno talking with the girls. he felt slightly jealous for the elder's fast garnering of attention, but hey. he also had female friends too why the jealousy?

the two of them ran and ran, practising non-stop for the sake of the zonals. the nationals only took place the following year for them because it was their first year in the school and no hard pressure was to be placed on 16-year-olds, according to the principal.

as the day progressed on, the school became quieter and quieter, until it was only basketball left as usual. Doyoung had gone home by 6.30pm because the extra practice focused on the school team, and he didnt want to interefere. Jaehyun was sad, but nonetheless he had to let the hyung go and run his errands.

as the team took turns to shoot the hoop, Donghae and Sungmin came over to their maknae, and kicked his calves. Jaehyun tried not to wince despite the pain since the kicks were hard, but he ignored the two.

" why so quiet boy? i thought you had something to tell us huh? what about that Kim Dong Young? or was it Doyoung? " Sungmin slyly asked him, following his footsteps towards the hoop. the younger turned his back towards them and bounced the ball, snapping his fingers at the same time to match his rhythm with it.

" i thought you two had a thing going on. all flirty flirty, but later on it becomes a bro-bro situation but more on the hoobae-sunbae side, dont you agree Sungmin? " Donghae tried to find his weak spot. because his back faced them, Jaehyun silently sniggered under his breath and rolled his eyes.

ignore them Jae. theyre not worth your time nor energy. they're the ones who think they can dig the shitty info out of me, but wait till you get the ball in their faces.

Jaehyun shoot the ball into the hoop and it went in, which meant that he had an option to stay or to go.

and he obviously chose to go, something regrettable.
