*** Rachel's POV ***
Fast forward to Rachel's birthday
"What's this for?" I ask my mom, as she hands me $500.
"Well, how do I put this," mom says, putting her finger against her lips.
"You're going to New York City."
My mouth drops.
"Oh. My. God."
Ever since I was like, 4, I've always wanted to go to New York City. I've done so many research projects about it, I've studied it, and everything.
"Thank you!" I hug my mom so hard she almost falls over. She laughs.
"You're welcome."
"Heyy birthday girl." Jacob tells me, with his hair messed up and voice raspy.
"I'm going to New York!" I screech at him. He smiles and grabs himself some water.
"I know," he says. I run over to him.
"And you didn't tell me?! Ughhh I hate youuu!" I say. He laughs and I groan.
Once my mom was gone, he pulled me into a tight hug.
"Happy birthday, babe." He whispers into my ear which makes me shiver.
"Wait so when am I leaving?" I ask him, still hugging.
"Today."
"I'm so excited!" I whisper-shout.
"I know," I feel him smile on the back of my shoulder, and he begins to stroke my hair which gives me tingles all over.
"Okay, lovebirds! Rachel, to time to pack." My mom says.
"Can Jacob come to New York?" I ask.
"Nope. We only have two tickets for a train."
I groan and stomp up the stairs. I could hear Jacob and my mom talking, but I couldn't make out what they were saying.
I packed my clothes, since the tickets said we were staying for 2 weeks. I packed everything else I need, basically all of my belongings. I ended up with two suitcases and a small bag.
"Ready!" I tell my mom. She kisses my forehead.
"Jacob, you know what to do," my mom tells him. He smiled and waved goodbye.
"Happy birthday, princess." He tells me.
***
The hotel we were staying at was BEAUTIFUL.
I had my own room, and my mom was directly across the hall from me in the next room.
It's so beautiful here. It had a perfect view of the city, you know, one of those glass walls. It's just gorgeous. The bedding was white, there was a closet, a vanity, a desk, dressers and I had my own bathroom with a huge shower. There was also a bathtub, which was good because I wanted to take some baths with my bath bombs.
"I'll be in the next room if you need me," mom says, putting down my last suitcase on my bed. I just nod.
I sit there, admiring the city for a while. Then I hear a knock on my wall.
"Like it?" A familiar voice says. I turn around.
"Jacob!" I scream and run to him.
"Surprise!" My mom shouts from across the hall.
"Love you, mom!" I reply.
"What are you doing here?" I focus on Jacob and hug him.
"Did you really think your mom wasn't going to let me come to New York? It was my plan to come along, I got onto the same train as you guys but took a different seat. Your mom told me to go to this apartment, so while you were upstairs packing, we talked a little bit about our plan."
I scoffed, but in a playful way. I pull away from the hug.
"The city is so beautiful," I say, touching the glass. It was nighttime, which made the whole scene look better. Jacob walks over to me and places one hand on my waist.
"You are too." He says, which makes me blush.
"Happy birthday, babe." Jacob whispers. I turn around, get away from his grip and lock the hotel door because it was nighttime and almost everyone would be in bed by now.
I texted my mom goodnight, and then I went back over to Jacob.
He places both hands on my waist, and we can see our reflection in the glass window. I smile, because it looks like we're on top of the city and we basically are. And then I turn around to him.
We stare at each other for a while, and then he kisses me. I kiss back, and we fall onto the bed. The bed was pretty big, too, which was good.
The scene kind of reminded me of the day that Jacob and I first kissed, back a few months ago. I never wanted this to end.
"Babe," I said as Jacob was kissing my cheek. He stops and looks at me.
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
"I love you too," he says without hesitation. For the rest of the night, we didn't kiss or make out. We just lay there in each other's arms, staring into the city. And then I slowly fell asleep.

This was cute af to write and I'm not going to lie about it. Also, sorry about all of the fast forwards, it's how I make the story more exciting instead of giving detail about every single day. -Jane
