***Rachel's POV***
Ew. It's Valentine's Day.
I know people are going to think, "You're just salty because you've never had a Valentine."
Well, ladies and gentlemen, I'm telling you right now, that is 100% true.
I wasn't going to dress nice today for school. In fact, I decided to dress in black clothing just to let people know that I'm not in the mood.
I walk to school now, since my mom can't drive me and I hate the bus. I had my experiences last year.
I looked at the house across from mine. It used to be Rebecca's, and then she moved her house after our argument or whatever and I never saw her. Her and I aren't friends—but it kind of feels weird to know she's not living here anymore. I think she moved to California or something.
I wasn't sure if anyone was going to move into her house or not. I haven't seen any people come to check it out.
The walk from my house to school is 15-20 minutes depending on my mood. I was half way there, I'm not distracted by my phone or anything.
Once I get to school,I see a bunch of people crowded around the school and a lot of rowdy people. I look over and try to see what's happening.
I saw what everyone was stressing about. Apparently, the school had hung up some hearts and Valentine's Day decorations, and they were ruined. Someone ripped, spray painted, colored, and took down the decorations. There was even offensive wording spray painted on the brick wall of the school, stuff that I don't want to repeat.
At the same time, everyone received a text.
Unknown- Rachel's a hoe, she tried to steal my boyfriend from me
Sure enough, everyone had gotten the same text, because there was a circle of people around me.
People were giving me confused looks, and shaking their heads. There was a silence.
"Who did this?" I whispered.
"WHO did this?!" I yelled, breaking the silence.
I heard the sound of clacking heels behind me.
"Boo, you whore," a voice said. I turned around, to see someone I just loved. I rolled my eyes.
"Ugly, ugly whore," she laughed.
"Kiera," I whispered.
"That's my name!" She smiled. I rolled my eyes.
"What do you want?"
"To fix your fashion... choices," Kiera says, eyeing me up and down. "A black eye would look super good on you!"
"Cat fight!" Someone yelled. I saw Kiera's fist clench up, before she swung at me. I'm way taller than her, at least 3 inches. She's a small, skinny thing with no curves at all. Not that it matters, but she has no body structure. And she's trying to fight me? Guess she has more nerve than I thought.
I grabbed her fist before it could touch my face. She kicked me in the stomach, which kind of hurt since she had heels on, but I twisted her arm around. She pinched me with her hard nails, making me let go, because that hurts. She gave me a bloody grin.
"I dare you," I smiled.
Kiera lost it. She ran at me, smacking me in the face. I pulled her hair, and she pulled mine, but I kicked her so she got off of me. Still holding onto her hair, I grabbed her arm and her leg, put them together, and then punched her in the face. She gave me a look, got back up, and tried to hit me. I didn't let that happen, though, and I punched her in the face again. This time, she had a bloody nose. She fell to the ground.
"Aw, who's ugly now?" I ask her, grinning. I bend down to her, and she's just on the ground.
"Still you," I whispered into her ear. She groaned.
I got up, to see everyone staring at me. I closed my eyes before opening them again.
"Show's over!" I wave to everyone. They begin to walk away.
And then I spot someone, Jacob.
"Y-you're really good at fighting," he says to me. I look up at the sky.
"Thanks," I grin.
"Kiera's just mad because I broke up with her,"
He did?
"You did?"
"Yeah," Jacob scratches the back of his neck. I smile.
"Oh," is what I said before an awkward silence came along. It's February, but it's 70 degrees out which is extremely warm for Valentine's Day.
I look at him in his eyes—his beautiful, dreamy eyes. I see nervousness in his eyes.
***Jacob's POV***
Kiera started to tell me about Rachel's past, how she got bullied, how bad it got, why she got bullied, and then she also told me about all the fights her and Kiera had. After I had heard what Kiera had done to her, I broke up with her. She wasn't right in the mind.
"I love you," I muttered underneath my breath.
"What?" Rachel asks.
"I said I love you," I say loudly.
Rachel looks me in the eye, again, and pulls me into a tight hug.
I smelled her hair, the sweet smell of vanilla that she's always had. We pull away from the hug, and our heads are inches apart.
***Rachel's POV***
I couldn't take it anymore. I kissed him, passionately. I think he was startled at first, but then he kissed back. His hands were on my lower back while mine were on his neck. I wanted to stay like this for forever.
"I love you too."

"What made you decide to break up with her?" I ask Jacob, as we were eating lunch outside since today's Valentine's Day and the school always does an eventful day for it.
"She told me about you," he paused. "Like... everything. Your story, the fights you guys had. She was so cruel and disrespectful to you. I realized that I still loved you a lot, and I didn't want to be with some stuck up and selfish girl. When I saw you stand up for yourself, I was really happy because I know what you've been through before and I'm glad you're in a better place."
"I love you," I told him.
"I love you too,"
"I love you more,"
"I love you the most,"
"I love you to infinity and back."
"But I love you just as much," he kisses my forehead, in front of everyone, making me blush.
"I'm assuming you're my boyfriend now?" I whisper into his ear.
"On one condition," he says. "You have to go with me to the Sweetheart Dance."
"Aw, come on. Really?" I groan. He nods his head.
"Okay, but it's only because I want all the girls to know that you're off limits and you're mine," I smile.
"I'm yours." He hugs me with one arm.
