I didn't know what to expect from Odell but I didn't expect him to be so vulnerable with me. I believed that he was really into me and for the first time since he came into my life I was excited to see where things went.
But I was still realistic, this was Odell Beckham Jr! Nobody knew what to expect from him so why should I?
It had been two weeks since I had seen Christian at that party and he had not tried to contact or come see me since. I was surprised because I just knew I was going to be seeing more of him after that night.
I'm not going to lie it did hurt some initially, feeling as if that drunk display at the party was the only fight he was going to put up for me! If anything this confirmed for me that he really didn't want me or this marriage. It felt like he was playing games.
After Odell finished checking us in at the front desk we were led to our villa. We had to drive his car to the villa because it was the most secluded of all the accommodations on the property and was normally reserved for celebrities.
When we finally got inside of it I was even more impressed than when we were driving around the grounds.
The furniture looked unique as if it was hand-crafted, the art on the walls felt like it could be hanging up in any museum in the Southwest, and the colors throughout the space immediately relaxed me.
Unlike most suites, the master bedroom was open to the rest of the villa. There was a wood-burning fireplace and a panoramic window that allowed us to see the beauty outside of the villa in our private backyard.
Odell took my hand and led me outside of the glass doors. The backyard was breathtaking, we had views of the mountains and gardens of the property. From our view it looked like there weren't any other people or houses for miles.
There was an outdoor shower, a hammock, a day-bed, and a pool with a fountain pouring over into it.
These were all places where you could make love to someone. Did my thoughts really just go there?
We walked closer to the pool and Odell led my hand inside of it.
"Ever swam in a warm salt water pool?"
"A warm salt water pool?" I didn't even know those existed. I had only swam in pools that had chlorine.
I took my hand out of the soothing weather and took in all of the tranquility surrounding us.
How am I going to resist him for 72 hours in a place like this? I thought to myself already feeling weak.
"Let's chill back here for a minute." He led us to the hammock and after he carefully crawled onto it to test his weight, I followed resting in the crook of his arm.
He pulled out his phone and began to go over the retreat's list of activities, I half-listened. All I wanted to do was lay right there with him and enjoy all of the peace and quiet.
They have the art studio where we can make sculptures, sketch, or paint outdoors," he began to read off, "they have organic cooking classes, some health workshops, meditation groups, yoga, Pilates, live music-"
I took his phone from him and put it behind my back.
"I just wanna be here, in this moment with you." I told him finding myself allowing him to see a little vulnerability.
