Chapter 4

As I walk through the gates of the school I am immediately embraced by the look of the beautiful sculpture standing in the middle of the courtyard, it's a bird, inside a golden circle, it looks like it's about to take flight but the circle, is keeping it in, if the school is the circle and the students is the bird. I walk into the main office to be greeted by a bright, bubbly woman, and by the name tag her name is "Effie Trinket"

"Miss ahh Trinket?"
"Oh, hello! Are you new?!" She speaks with fake smiles clear in her thick accent,
"Yes, my name is Katniss, Katniss Everdeen,"
She types something into her computer, then the printer starts printing something, my schedule I'm guessing,
"Ahh, Miss Everdeen, here is you schedule, enjoy Mockingjay High!"
"Thank You Miss Trinket,"
"Please calls me Effie!"
"Ok thank you Miss... Effie?" I say it more as a question
She huffs of approval and I glance at my schedule,

History- Mr Abernathy- Room 73

I start walking down the hall reading my schedule over and over again with the weight of my books in my bag banging against my back with every step I take closer and closer to my new class at a new school,

I am brought from my thoughts when I walk into somebody, we immediately fall to the fall,

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" I stutter,
"It's ok, happens all the time," it's a boy I can tell by their voice, they chuckle as they speak, I have probably just embarrassed my self on my first day, just great.

I look up as we have stood up and picked all of our belongings up, I finally put a face to the voice and he's charming really but not really my type,
He has Eyes, green, like a emerald glistening in a hot summers sun, bronze hair, scruffy but clean, but who am I to judge, my hairs a mess, he is tanned, perfectly if I may add.

"I'm Finnick," he puts his hand out in a friendly gesture,
"Katniss," a Shake his hand
"Ahh, Katniss Everdeen?"
"Yea? How do you.."
"Know? Let's say a have a friend who wants to be yours," he says with a wink and a smirk on his face,
"Now what do we have here," he says as he yanks my schedule away from me,
"History, your with me,"
He starts walking away but stops and turns around as if sensing I'm not following him, which, I'm not,
"Care to join?"
"Yea sorry," I catch up with him and we talk about the school, until we walk into history and are greeted by a aroma of alcohol, I'm not a big fan, but at the occasional party? Why not?
"And you are?"
"Katniss Everdeen,"
"Ok grab a seat by the blonde," he snaps
"It's Delly!" The girl snaps back,
I walk over to her and I can tell that she and her 'friends' rule the school
"Hi I'm Delly, your Katniss, nice to finally meet you!" Uhh, finally?
"Hey, and finally?" What is this girl on about?
"Oh you didn't know?"
"No?"
"Girls be quiet I have a major hangover and it would help if you shushed," Mr Abernathy groaned,
"Sorry! I'll tell you later,"
"Ok?" I hope this girl is not bad news,

I am hit in the head with a piece of bunched up paper, I open it and it says

'DO NOT listen to her she is bad news, oh and meet me at the locker number **** at lunch! or after this class ~ Fin <3'

I look over to him and he does a thumbs up with a idiotic grin in his face, I internally grin and do a thumbs up back.

After class I do as Finnick wishes and walk to the locker, when I arrive I see him standing there looking impatient,

"Sorry, did I take forever?"
"Na, don't worry, come on I want to show you something," he grabs my hand and he rushes me to a janitors closet,

"Ahhhhhh?" I say as I point around the room,
"What are we doing in here?" I ask cautiously,
"I just wanted to tell you do not trust Delly and her friends, they are bad news, you get on their good side, you pretty much are automatically hated by everybody else, you get on their bad side, they hate you, but everybody likes you, because they are the school sluts, sleeps with teachers to get better grades, all that kind of stuff, so whatever you do, DO NOT get on thief good side!"

It takes a few seconds to get that all through my head but by the time I understand Finnick is gone, out the door. So I'm left alone stranded in a small cold janitors room.
