Chapter 8

After the dinner date Peeta drove me home and we went our separate ways but just after Peeta stole a quick kiss on the cheek.

I enjoyed my night out with him, it was enjoyable and I would defiantly do it again, but not so suddenly soon.

As I wake up to the birds chirping and the wind rustling the tree leaves, I open my eyes and slam my hand on my alarm to shut it up. Well I guess I could get used to it... But then again even after 3 years I'm still not used to it. I hop out of bed and jump in the shower, I scrub myself clean, and hop out. I change into my black ripped skinny jeans and my nirvana tank top with my black converse, I grab my phone and my bag which if full of my books for all my lame subjects today, and full with homework. Great, another day in paradise. I walk downstairs and walk into the kitchen where my mother is making some breakfast,

"Morning mother,"
"Morning,"
"How are you?"
"I'm fine." And that's our morning chat, just wait till this afternoon...
"Hey mother? When I'm finished with school I'm going to go to the hairdressers, is that ok?"
"It's fine, what for?"
"Oh just some... Adjustments," I smirk and she turns around and gives me my breakfast,
"Yea sure."
I eat my breakfast and walk out the door ready for my second day at school. I'm just about to hop into the car when a motorbike slides I front of me, great,
"Hey Katniss, want a ride?"
"Uhhh, I was just gonna drive."
"Nope. I insist you come with me this fine morning,"
"Ugh, fine, only if you drop me of at the hairdressers after school." I point my finger at him,
He puts his pinky finger up,
"Promise."
I sigh, and hop on the back of his bike, and of we went to a new day of school that I am DEFIANTLY not looking forward too, when we arrive we are greeted with glares, whispers and pointing of fingers.
Great, now they think the new girl is peetas 'new girl' just what I need,
I hop off the bike and walk up to the entrance greeted with more glares and whispers, I walk up to Finnick who's looking at me smirking.
"What?"
"Oh, nothing Katniss, nothing at all." He chuckles and walks off I don't follow because I'm getting called by none other then, yes, Peeta.
"Katniss!"
I turn around,
"Yea?" He walked over to me and leaned to whisper in my ear,
" we have all our classes together today, but before class let's go meet some people?"
I nod my head wanting to see who he's talking about and also because I need more friends then Peeta and Finnick.
We walk inside and head to the running track outside and over to the stands.
"Hey guys,"
"Oh hey Peet,"
"Sup Peeta,"
"Ok guys, this is katniss, Katniss this is Johanna,"
I look over to the brunette with a short hair cut she smirks reaches out her hand and shakes mine,
"Nice to meet you, finally, Peeta hasn't STOPPED talking about you," she glares at Peeta,
"Anyway! This is glimmer and marvel,"
He points to the two sitting unexpectedly sitting close to each other,
"Hey Katniss! I'm glimmer and this is my boyfriend marvel!"
Well that explains them sitting too close.
"And this is clove and Cato who are also a couple,"
"Hey I'm clove," she smiles,
"And I'm... Cato! Obviously " He smiles, chuckling shaking his head.
"And where's Finnick and Annie?"
"Probably making out in the janitors closet,"
Finnick? He Never told me he knew Peeta and was well friends with him...
"You called?" We turn around and there's Finnick standing with his arms wrapped around some brunette with a small fragile looking body frame, who looked like she was about to shatter in any moment under Finnicks loose but firm grip...

"Finnick!"
Peeta walked up and did a hug man shake thingy.
"Ahhh, Katniss, and how are you?"
"Wait you two know each other?"
"Yea, he saved me from becoming friends with Delly and her barbie team."
"Ohhh, those girls.... I just wanna just" clove sighs frustrated.
"Clover, calm down they are just some blondes!" Marvel says,
"Hey!" Glimmer and Cato slap him playfully, and Peeta being the joker he is slaps him like a little girl would and says
"Yea!"
We laugh,
"Hi I'm Annie," the small girl walks in from behind me,
"Hey, I'm Katniss, now are they always like this?" I look over to everyone arguing over some sleepover thing.
She sighs,
"Unfortunately, yes. But our friendships are like a roller coaster, they have there ups and downs but when the rides finished you just wanna go again and do it all over, but they don't really do it serious, they do it as a joke,"
"Ohhh ok" I smile at her,
The bell goes off,
"Well time for class" we all groan And walk of to class.
