It was time for the third task of the Triwizard Tournament. Lauren stood anxiously in the crowd with Hermione on her left and Colin on her right. She tried to ignore Marian's comments about Colin as the champions arrived. It was obvious to her how nervous Harry was about the task and she couldn't blame him. She was nervous too, but more about Mad-eye Moody. She still was convinced that he was an impostor, but no matter what she told Dumbledore, he didn't listen.

But even without the impostor, Lauren was anxious. Her instincts told her that something bad was going to happen at this task, but she didn't know what.

She knew that she would find out though, because Lauren knew her instincts were always right. Always.

After the champions had entered the maze, the students began to chat among themselves. Lauren passed the time by swapping stories back and forth with Marian and Colin.

"There is no way that you had a tea party with Dumbledore and Hagrid," Colin joked.

"And Mad-eye Moody," Marian added. She nodded. "It's completely true- I've seen the pictures," Colin shook his head. Lauren smiled.

"I'll prove it to you,"she announced, standing up. Ignoring her friends protests, Lauren ran to the edge of the stands where Dumbledore and Hagrid were talking.

"Hey Hagrid!" she yelled. They both turned to her. She grinned and pretended to sip an imaginary cup of tea, her pinkie high in the air. They nodded and Marian and Colin watched, gaping, as Dumbledore himself and Hagrid mimicked what Lauren had done. She grinned at them. "Thanks guys!" she called to Dumbledore and Hagrid, running back to her seat. Colin burst out laughing when she arrived.

"I need to see that picture"he said between laughs. Lauren opened her mouth to make a comment but before she could, red sparks flew up from the maze and the teachers immediately whisked off to it. The crowd was silent as they returned, rushing Fleur Delacour into a tent. Lauren, Hermione, Colin, the Weasleys', and everyone else who wasn't rooting for Fleur, breathed a sigh of relief.

Later...

The crowd cheered as Harry and Cedric appeared on the ground. But Lauren gasped in horror and ran down toward them from the stands.

"Lauren!" Colin shouted.

"Something's wrong!"she yelled back at him. She was the first to notice, for that was how she was. She was the first to see how still and lifeless Cedric was, and how panicked Harry was, with tears streaming down his face. As the teachers came to their senses, Lauren shoved her way through the crowd and ran to Harry, oblivious to the fact that Colin was right behind her. He grabbed her around the waist to stop her as Dumbledore approached the boys and Mad-eye Moody dragged Harry away. The crowd was panicking now and Mr. Diggory was collapsed over his son's body. but while Lauren saw all of that, he attention was focused on Mad-eye, who was leading Harry away from the scene.

The Mad-eye I know wouldn't take him away from something like this, Lauren thought. She was panicked now, with tears running down her face and her breath coming in short gasps. Colin released his grip on her waist and pulled her into a hug. He was shaking, but she didn't notice. I have to warn Dumbledore, she thought, And if he won't listen, then I'll go after them myself. She broke away from Colin and she sprinted to the Headmaster.

"Dumbledore,"she began, breathlessly,"I-"

"Now is not a good time, Lauren"Dumbledore said, cutting her off.

"But-"she tried again.

"Not now!"he said again. Lauren's eyes flared bright and something inside her snapped. This was an emergency.

"ALBUS PERCIVAL WULFRIC BRIAN DUMBLEDORE, YOU LISTEN TO ME RIGHT NOW!!!!!" she screamed. He stopped and stared at her. "The person you hired as a professor is not who you think he is! The Mad-eye Moody you and I know would NEVER lead Harry away from something like this, but your impostor has lead him away and he could be attacking him right now for all we know, so, FORGET YOUR STUPID PRIDE AND GO AFTER HIM OR SO HELP ME MERLIN I WILL DO IT MYSELF!"and with that, she stormed off towards the castle, pulling out her wand with one hand and her dagger with the other.

Dumbledore followed her, with Snape and McGonagall on his tail.

At the castle...

Harry sat nervously in the chair in Moody's office. He didn't trust this person; not anymore. Suddenly, a shout came and the door burst open.

"Stupefy!" someone yelled, and Moody was thrown against the wall. Harry was shocked to see Lauren run in. She glanced at him to make sure he was okay and then walked over to Moody with her wand out. "Harry, get out of that chair,"she ordered. Seeing as she had attacked one of his teachers, Harry did as he was told. Lauren grabbed Moody and threw him into the chair with a surprising amount of strength. Then, out of nowhere, she produced a wicked looking knife and she pressed it against Moody's throat, her lightning eyes blazing.

"Where is Mad-eye Moody?"she demanded. Harry was confused, but then a loud noise came from the chest in the corner of the room. Lauren looked at it without taking her eyes-or knife- off Moody. Then, a bit late, Dumbledore, Snape and McGonagall burst into the room. McGonagall looked at Lauren and bit back a gasp. "Mad-eye's in the trunk" Lauren said while everyone gaped at her. Dumbledore ran over and open the trunk. Sure enough, Mad-eye Moody was inside. "Believe me now?"Lauren questioned.

"Yes," Dumbledore said. "Severus get Madam Pomefry, and Lauren please, put down the knife. We can handle him from here." Lauren snorted.

"Sure you can" she said sarcastically. But she did as she was told.

The next day.....

Lauren walked into the Hospital wing. In a bed in the back of the room was the real Mad-eye Moody.

"Hi Mad-eye," she offered. The ex-auror smiled weakly at her.

"That was quite some stunt you pulled last night from what I heard and saw," he replied. She smiled.

"Oh, that was nothing," she insisted.

"Dumbledore said that you had been telling him all year that it wasn't the real me; how did you know?"he asked.

"Lots of things," Lauren began "The impostor drank from a flask, and you never drink because it clouds your head. When I shouted constant vigilance, I didn't get a magical eye thrown at me. And last night, your impostor lead Harry away from the scene which you wouldn't have done." Mad-eye actually looked impressed.

"You pay close attention to everything, don't you?"he commented. She nodded.

"Now why don't I get you a water refill,"she suggested. "Your glass is empty." He hadn't realized that it was.

At the Great Hall...

As Lauren entered the Great Hall for breakfast, Harry, George, Fred, Ron, Ginny, Hermione, Marian, and Colin ran up to her. Colin almost tackled her with a huge hug.

"Are you all right?" he asked.

"Harry told us what you did, that was amazing!"Marian shrieked. Lauren laughed.

"I'm fine." she declared. She turned to Harry. "So he's back?" she asked. Harry nodded.

"He's back."
