It was past midnight, Sirius noted. Lauren's curfew was 11 o'clock. And she wasn't home yet. Suddenly, the front door opened and shut, signaling Lauren's arrival. Sirius stood in the hallway, a stern look on his face. He stared at her, from her windswept hair to the dopey grin on her face.

"You're late." he said sharply.

"Am I?" Lauren said dreamily, wandering into the living room. She sat down on top of a couch and fell backwards, her feet hanging off the back of the couch. Sirius walked over to her and studied her for a moment.

"Are you drunk?" he questioned, noting the dreamy look in Lauren's eyes and her strange behavior. She glanced up at him and sat up on the couch.

"I'm drunk on love." she declared. Sirius cocked an eyebrow.

"What the hell did he give you?" he wondered out loud. She smiled.

"Nothing." she insisted, but then she paused. "Well, he did give me... this!"she added, holding up her left hand, which had a diamond ring on it. Sirius froze.

"He proposed." he muttered in disbelief. Lauren nodded frantically, a huge grin on her face. "And you said yes." he breathed. She nodded again. After a moment, Sirius regained the ability to have emotion and to move. "I'm going to owl Remus." he announced before leaving the room.

"To tell him?" Lauren asked.

"No." Sirius replied. "To figure out who's got a gun I can borrow."

September  24th...

After being strangled, punched, yelled at, warned, chased for about 6 miles, and nearly shot multiple times, Colin was finally given permission to marry Lauren. And today was the day he would finally do so.

Lauren stared at her reflection in the mirror. It was almost time. Sirius came up behind her and rested his hands on her shoulders.

 "You nervous?" he asked.

"No." Lauren said honestly. "I'm excited. I'm happy....But there's just a couple of people I wish could've been here." she added. Sirius nodded, knowing exactly who she meant.

"They would've been proud." he declared. "Especially Anna. She would've loved to see you look so beautiful." Lauren smiled.

"You're sure Remus doesn't mind that you walk me down the aisle?" she questioned for the thousandth time. Sirius grinned.

"I'm sure. And besides, someone has to control the guests." Lauren laughed.

The ceremony was perfect. Sirius had walked Lauren down the aisle and had given her away. And, although they would never admit it, Lauren swore she saw tears in both his and Remus's eyes. Other people didn't hold back though. Mcgonagall, Molly Weasley, and Hagrid cried a lot during the ceremony. Now it was after the wedding and dancing had begun. Lauren danced with Colin, of course, but also with all of her brothers as well, from Bill to Harry. And, as with Ginny's wedding, she danced with George twice, once for him, and once for Fred. She was resting her feet when Sirius approached. A song had just ended. He walked up to her and held out his hand.

"Can I get one last dance with my girl?" he asked. Lauren smiled and took his hand.

"Yes. But I assure you, it won't be the last." she replied. He grinned and nodded at the band, guiding her to the dance floor.

Lauren's jaw dropped as the familiar song began to play. They danced to the song, remembering all the other times they had. Those days were always Lauren's favorite. The days of smoke and firewhiskey filling the air, of non-sober men chanting in a circle, of jigs danced on tabletops. It was a simpler time, before Lauren had truly known how cruel the world could be. The singer in the band could barely be heard over the singing of Sirius, Remus, Rick, Hagrid, Lauren, Harry, and the Weasley boys. At one line in the song, Lauren stared straight into Sirius's eyes and sang.

This one's for the man that raised me, Taught me sacrifice and bravery!

The only difference between that line and the others she had sang, was that in this line, she sang to Sirius and meant every word.
