After just a few weeks at the Weasley's, Lauren ran away. She was still one of the most wanted people in the Wizarding World, especially after her mysterious escape from Malfoy Manor. Lauren knew it was only a matter of time before they found her at the Burrow, so she decided to leave rather than put the Weasleys in danger. She'd done what she needed to do. The Order knew that she was alive and that their secrets were safe. now it was time for her to move on again. After Sirius's death, Lauren had become a bit of a nomad. She wandered around with no real home. She hardly stayed put anywhere but Hogwarts, so it wasn't a surprise to find her gone. But now Lauren wasn't just wandering. She had a mission. To find Harry, Ron, and Hermione and to join them on their hunt for Horcruxes. Maybe she couldn't save the world like them, but maybe she could at least help the cause and die with dignity like Regulas Black had. Lauren had to start somewhere, so she went with her gut and apparated. And who knows what would've happened if she hadn't trusted her faithful instincts.
Harry hit the ground with a thud. He was instantly confused. Why was he in some forest and not Sirius's house? Then his senses kicked in and he whipped around to see Hermione bent over Ron, panicking slightly. Ron's arm was a literal bloody mess.
"Hermione, his arm." Harry noticed.
"Ah, Mr. Potter, always nice to see that we can count on you to be the Captain Obvious the world so desperately needs." a familiar voice observed. Harry whirled around as Hermione dug through her bag, searching for a potion. She grabbed the vial as Harry screamed.
Harry had glanced around when he spotted a small figure leaning against a tree while standing on a branch. A branch that was at least twenty feet in the air. Even from the distance, and with his poor vision, Harry could pick out a short girl with a leather jacket and lightning eyes, a signature smirk on her face.
"Dear Merlin." Harry whispered in disbelief. "Lauren?" the girl nodded, and Harry screamed. "LAUREN!" he yelled as she hopped to the ground. Hermione whipped around as Harry barreled into the girl.
"Vous etes vraiment un capitaine idiot evident. MAINTENANT ME DEPOSER!" Lauren replied.
"What?" Harry asked. Lauren face palmed as he released her.
"Rien frere idiot." she added, rolling her eyes. "Nothing!" she insisted.
"Of course you can come with us!" Hermione insisted.
"Oh Merci!" Lauren thanked her. "I really have nowhere else to go."
"You can stay as long as you speak English." Harry agreed.
"Mais alors, comment je vais vous insulter, visage cicatriciel?" Lauren questioned. Harry threw his hands in the air.
"I give up!" he admitted. Lauren grinned. It was nice to be back where she belonged, back with her friends. But some things still bothered her. Like where Colin was and how he was doing, or Marian, or Remus and Tonks. She missed them and Sirius. And Mad-eye Moody. He had died when Lauren was a prisoner. That one stung. She never even got to say goodbye. But she couldn't dwell on that now. Now it was the time to hunt and to fight. To win. After all, Le spectacle doit continuer. The show must go on.
