The fight had broken out. Lauren watched as Ron and Harry screamed at each other. Hermione said that the only reason they were fighting is because Ron had been wearing the necklace all day, but Lauren begged to differ.

"YOU THINK I DON'T HOW THIS FEEL!" Harry yelled.

"NO!" Ron shouted back. "YOU DON'T KNOW HOW THIS FEELS! YOUR PARENTS ARE DEAD! YOU HAVE NO FAMILY!"  Before Harry could lunge at him, Lauren was there.

"RON!" she screamed at him. "You know bloody well that's not true!"

"I don't see why you're defending him!" Ron retorted. "It's not like you've got anyone else either!"

*SLAP!*

After that comment, Lauren had wound up and bitch-slapped him as hard as she could. Ron spun around and stumbled a little before putting a hand up to the red mark on his face. Lauren walked towards him and grabbed him by the collar.

"Don't. You. Dare." she snarled. "Don't you dare say I have no one when, if you could look past your selfish nose,  you would see that you're actually one of the few people I have left."

"Go." she growled. "Just go." Ron grabbed his bag and headed for the door.

"Ron, wait!" Hermione insisted.

"Take it off." Harry ordered.

"What's that?" Ron questioned.

"I said TAKE IT OFF." he repeated. Ron took off the necklace and threw it to the ground. He turned to Hermione.

"I already know their answers. And you?" he demanded. "Are you coming or are you staying?"

"Ron I..." she trailed off, looking around helplessly.

Ron glared at Harry.

"I see how it is." he insisted. "I saw you two."

"Ron that's- that's nothing." Hermione exclaimed. He didn't care, and walked out. Hermione chased after him.

"Ron wait! RON!" she cried. Lauren bent down and picked up the locket, resting it on a table.

"He's wrong, you know." she reminded Harry. "You've still got a family." Harry snorted.

"Yea, like who?" he asked. She looked at him.

"You've got me. You've always got me. And Hermione, and the Weasleys', and Remus." she explained. Harry glanced at her.

"Thank you." he replied.

Weeks later.....

"There's somewhere I want to go." Lauren declared. Hermione glanced up from her book.

"Where?" she asked.

"It's a bar called the Cursed Pig." Lauren explained.

"Lauren, as much as I think we would love to drown our sorrows, I don't think we should go to a bar." Harry insisted.

"If you ever meet a man that tries to drown his sorrows, kindly inform him that his sorrows know how to swim." Hermione quoted. "Sorry, muggle book series."

"I'm not going there for a firewhiskey, Harry." she explained. "When....when I was younger, Sirius used to take me there. People used to sing, dance, just, have fun. There was a song they used to play. It was Sirius's favorite. I've wanted to go back there since he died, just to hear the song one more time. So....so that I could really say goodbye to him." Harry studied her for a moment, then nodded.

"Hermione," he announced. "We're going to the Cursed Pig."

Lauren opened the door and inhaled deeply at the familiar smell of smoke and firewhiskey.

"You should've used Polyjuice Potion." Hermione whispered behind her.

"No." Lauren objected. "I couldn't come back here as someone else."  The three of them walked in and Lauren went over to the bar. "Hey Rick." she said softly. The bartender turned and his eyes widened at he sight of her.

"Lauren." he whispered in disbelief. "I haven't seen you since..." She nodded.

"I know."

"It's good to see you." he insisted. "How are you?"

"I'm uh," Lauren tried. She chuckled slightly. "Not gonna lie, I've been better. How about you?"

"Well,I'm doing about as good as I can be, considering that I lost my favorite customer, and other things." he trailed off. "I think I know what you came here for." Lauren nodded.

"I think you do." Harry and Hermione watched as Rick reached up and rang a bell.

As soon as it chimed, music began.

"It's all yours." Rick told her. She smiled ruefully and turned to the bar.

"Stay here and watch." Lauren said. "I think you're going to like this." As they watched, Lauren made her way to the middle of the floor and began to sing.

The pictures tell the story,

This life had many shades.

I'd wake up every morning, and before I'd start each day,

I'd take a drag from last night's cigarette,

That smoldered in its tray,

Down a little something and then be on my way.

I've traveled far and wide,

Laid this head in many ports,

I was guided by a compass,

I saw beauty to the north.

I've drew the tales of many lives,

Wore the faces of my own,

I had these memories all around me so I wouldn't be alone.

Some may be from growing up,

Others are from growing up,

Sometimes I was so messed up,

And didn't have a clue.

I ain't winning no one over,

I'll wear it just for you,

I've got your name written here in a rose tattoo.

In a rose tattoo

In a rose tattoo

I've got your name written here in a rose tattoo.

And from there it went. Lauren belt out the entire song with the rest of the bar. When she reached one lyric, tears appeared in her eyes and her voice wavered as she sang,

"This one's for the man that raised me, taught me sacrifice and bravery." There were tears in Rick's eyes too as the song finished. When it was over Lauren went back to the bar. She and Rick stared at each other, a thousand unspoken words of pain in their eyes. Rick nodded and Lauren turned to her friends, fighting off tears.

"We can go now." she said shakily.

"Lauren," Harry began.

"I said we can go." she repeated, walking towards the door. She didn't want to leave, but she didn't know how much longer she could keep it together.
