Loriana POV
"So you not gonna speak?" Dre asked. He just picked me up from the airport and we're on our way to his house.
"I don't even know what to say." I shrugged. "Thanks for picking me up Dre. I appreciate it." I said. He nodded his head and focused on the road.
"So, what you gonna do now that you know all this shit?" He asked.
"I don't even know. I just don't want to think about him or the situation. I just feel so stupid."
"As you should. You're just real naive and don't know what is real and what is fake." He said. Wow, just lay it on me then.
"I don't think I'm naive. Rodney was a really nice guy. Like when we first met, that was my best friend and he was always there for me and he was real with me. I don't think I'm naive for believing we could get to that space again." I said.
"I'm saying your naive for sticking with homeboy. He fucked around on you multiple times on multiple occasions and you still stayed with him. I feel like any respect he had for YOU left the first time he switched up on you, and all the respect you had for yourself left when you took him back." He said. I sighed loudly and slouched down in the seat.
"So basically, I'm naive and have no respect for myself." I rolled my eyes.
"Yeah, and the way you just said that was childish. I think that you could have done better and you know you could have, but you got real comfortable in your situation, you didn't want to let go. Respect yourself and do better for YOURSELF." He said.
"Do better as in...?" I rolled my neck. "You?" I asked.
"Well, I sure as hell wouldn't cheat on you." He chuckled.
"And how do I know that? I bet you've cheated before."
"I've never cheated before while being in a serious relationship. When I was a teenager in high school, yeah I would kiss up on one girl then move to the next, but I never dated those females. First real relationship I got into, homegirl cheated on me and it was a rap after that. I got into a few other relationships but they never lasted. I've never cheated though. Shits childish." He shrugged.
"Hmm. I be forgetting you're a grown ass man." I chuckle.
"I be forgetting you're a kid, but then you do shit to remind me."
"You're four years older than me, stop it. And you're trying to get with this 'kid'." I said.
"Shit, you right." He shrugged.
We soon pulled up to his house and he parked his car in the driveway. I took a deep breath and got out the car. It's super late and all I want to do is just sleep.
"Are you going back to work?" I asked him as he unlocked the house door and walked in while carrying my luggage.
"Nah, I planned accordingly and I went into work early and did what I had to do. I'm fucking exhausted." He yawned and stretched.
"Well, thanks for being here for me and letting me stay here tonight. I just don't want my parents asking me why I came back from the trip early. I want to avoid telling them about me and Rodney for as long as possible." I said. He chuckled and shook his head.
"When you do out it, do it after I beat his ass, because your dad is sure to kill him." Dre laughed.
I smirked and rolled my eyes. That does sound good but Rodney is a father and I would feel so guilty if I was the cause of Rodney's death....even though he'll technically be the cause.
