Loriana POV

Tonight is family dinner at my house so that means a whole bunch of kids and hungry ass people fill my house. I may get annoyed but the food is always good as hell.

"Lori, can you please go change out those sweats and do something with your hair?" My mom asked referring to the Pink track suit I had on and my messy curly bun.

"I'm comfortable mom. It's just dinner and I know all these people already." I rolled my eyes.

The doorbell rang and my mom looked at me basically telling me to go get the door. I sighed and went to go do just that. I hope that this is Avery and his lil girlfriend. I hope she's nice, but from what I've heard from Avery, she's damn near an angel.

I opened the door to see Dre there texting on his phone. He looked pretty good in his outfit and he just got a fresh haircut.

"Earth to Dre." I said, waving my hand in his face. He looked up and smirked. He stepped into the house and gave me a tight hug.

"Damn shorty, what's going on with this head top?" He asked, laughing at my hair.

"Stop! I had to do something with it. It's all tangled and shit. Leave me alone." I said. He shrugged and put his phone away. "Who were you texting?" I asked.

"My pops. He asked me to go to church tomorrow." he said.

"Oh, you gonna go? Church sounds fun." I said. My family doesn't really go to church and I didn't grow up in one. My parents really just be busy all the time.

"Yeah. I usually go every Sunday but I've skipped out these past two months." He said. I nodded and walked over to the living room where majority of the people were.

"Why you been skipping?" I asked him.

"I've picked up extra work hours cause I'm trying to rack up more money. I'll go tomorrow though, I miss it." He shrugged.

"You already have mad money. Why you doing extra hours? What for?" I asked.

"I just like to stack my money for safe keeping and incase I ever want to make some moves. You've seen the way my siblings milk me for money, I need to save up." He chuckled.

"I guess you right." I shrugged. "So do you like church when you go? Like what's the atmosphere?" I asked.

"I love church. My relationship with God is very important to me. The church I go to I've been going to since I was a lol kid so everyone like family." He said. I nodded and looked around. "I feel like you want to go, so you wanna go tomorrow?" He asked. I smiled and nodded. I don't even know what to wear but I'm excited to go.

"Food is ready!" My momma yelled. I sighed and waited for the stampede of people to flood the kitchen. These people don't eat all day waiting for this food, it's crazy.

"Aye aye! Ladies and kids first and y'all know this!" My dad yelled so that everyone can hear him. The men groaned and stepped out of line, letting the ladies go.

Since family dinner consist of select people that work for my uncle that we consider family, dinners are always huge and we just set it up in a buffet style.

"Yo yo." I looked behind me to see Avery. Finally his ass made it. Ion know what took his ass so long.

He weaved through the crowd greeting people and introducing the girl that was with him occasionally. He finally got to me and I plastered a smile on my face. I don't know if he's still mad at me from before, but that's not something I'm going to bring up.
