Chapter 35

Rodney POV

I scrunched up my face while looking at Ruby's stomach, trying to register what she just said. She's...pregnant.

"You just gonna stand and stare at me, or are you gonna say something?" She folded her arms across her chest.

"I'm just shocked. How did this even happen bruh?" I asked. I took a seat on the couch and put my head down.

"That's funny. You know exactly how this happened. We've been having sex like as we actually are dating. Like the shits casual at this point. The times you came home and didn't tell Lori, we were fucking....and having family time with Hassan. That's how this happened." She said, pointing to her stomach.

Out of all the shit that could happen, this happens and I'm screwed. How the hell is my life turning out like this right now? I just got Loriana back and I'm gonna loose her again just like that. There is no coming after I drop this whole fucking bomb on her. I ain't even mean for this to happen.

"Fuck." I groaned out of frustration.

"However you plan on telling your girl, is your issue. I don't really care and I'm really not here for the drama. If she ends up having any 'beef' with me after you tell her, let her know to leave it at the door because I DON'T have time." She said. She wrapped herself back up with her cardigan and grabbed her purse. "I have errands to do so I'll call later to check on Hassan." She said before letting herself out.

I just sat on the couch and registered all of this. I can't even be excited for the pregnancy, because I'm going to loose the woman that I love at the same time. I can't even explain why I continued to have sex with Ruby. It's just something that I'm use to and I know she'll always be there, so it just happens. I wish I was more careful and I definitely do regret getting her pregnant, but I have to own up to my mistakes. I don't know how I'm going to tell Loriana this, but I know I'm going to have too soon.

Loriana POV

"Dre?" I said once he picked up the phone but didn't say anything. "Hello?"

"My bad Lori. I was trying to figure what the hell my moms GPS was telling me. Wassup?" He asked.

"I was just wondering if you were busy. I wanted to meet up and talk." I said, probably sounding as tired as I feel.

"This time around, I actually am busy. I got mad shit to do today and I'm with my mom and sisters right now. I'm in DuPage county right now because they just moved here. Then I have to stop by West Englewood later to do shit." He explained to me.

"Damn Dre. You're literally running across the whole area. You can't come to me real quick? How about you pick me up after you drop your family." I suggested.

"Are you crazy? I'm not about to take you to West Englewood. You tried it though." He chuckled. "Your boujee ass wouldn't last a minute."

"I'll be just fine. Don't you got street cred down there?"

"I do, you don't." He continued to laugh. "Anyways, your ass lives all the way in South Barrington. I struggle on a daily to get to your crib, so imagine me doing all this fucking driving today. But listen, I'll see if I can drop by at some point today. Don't be upset if I don't come." He said. Shit, that's better than nothing.

"I guess. Enjoy your family time and be safe lil guy." I smirked.

"Oh you got jokes? Aight girl, come with the same energy when I see you." He challenged me.
