Dre POV

"To early for y'all to be in my fucking house." I grumbled as I let in Danny and Ray, my best friends since elementary school.

"Rise and shine nigga. You been ghost lately." Danny said as they walked towards my kitchen. Of course.

"Nah, I've just been occupied." I said. I frowned as they helped themselves to my milk and cereal.

"With shorty you be bringing to church all the time?" Ray asked with a mouth full of cereal.

"Yeah and I'm going back to school." I said. They looked at each other then laughed.

"I thought you were never gonna go back. You going back to University of Chicago?" Ray asked.

"Yeah. And I thought long and hard about it, and I realized that in order for me to be making the bankroll that I really want, I have to go get my masters." I shrugged. I don't want to be doing illegal shit for the rest of my life.

"That's good bro. We support you all the way." Ray said. I nodded and stretched, still trying to shake off the sleep from my body.

"Dre!" I heard Lori's voice yell. I forgot I asked her to bring me breakfast.

"Oh shit, let's put ourselves together Ray. Can't have her thinking some type of way about us." Danny said. Him and Ray really started straightening themselves out and brushing their waves.

"Y'all are fucking annoying." I laughed. I left them and met Lori halfway.

I gave her a hug before taking the IHOP bag out of her hand. She looked like she really just got out of bed then went to get breakfast. Messy bun, onesie, bare face, and Uggs on her feet.

"I'm about to eat this food then knock out." She said as she followed me into the kitchen. "oh I didn't know you had visitors. I would have bought more food." She said. She looked at Danny and Ray shyly and smiled.

"This is Danny and Ray. They've been my friends since we were kids." I said.

"Nice to meet y'all. My names Loriana." Lori said softly.

"Nice to meet you. This is a rare occasion because Dre never introduces us to his girlfriends." Danny said. I sucked my teeth and took out food out the bag.

"Well, I'm not his girl." Lori shrugged earning a slap on the ass by me.

"Stop playing with me then." I mumbled before taking a seat at my island with my food.

"Nobody playing with your ass fool." Lori laughed.

She knows she's playing with me. I'm ready to give her the whole princess treatment but I can tell and she has told me that's she's not ready. So till she ready, I'm just cooling, and when she's ready I'll be here. We've been spending time like as if we're really dating though. I've managed to get her to regularly come to church with me for the past two months and a few bible studies. We've went out a few times and she spends the night here frequently. We basically dating without the titles.

"Ugh, y'all so cute and shit." Danny said, cringing. "Hurry up and eat and shower and shit so we can go dude."

"Where you going?" Lori asked me.

"Oh damn, I forgot to tell you. I'm going to the barbershop then I got a few other errands to do. What, you want to do something?" I asked. She shrugged then shook her head. I looked at her at she turned her back to get her food and I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Stop staring at me." She said, still with her back turned.

"Wassup ma? Your attitude changed when I said I'm busy today." I said.
