~Christmas Eve~
"Mom, I can't eat this." I said, looking at the rice and beans and chicken on my plate.
"Why not? You haven't eaten all day and it's going on 3 in the afternoon."
"I'm honestly not hungry at all and I know if I eat, I'll just throw it all up." I whined.
Today has just been a rough day for me. I woke up sick and with a head ache and it looks like my stomach grew so much over night. You can totally tell that I'm pregnant. Rodney hit my line this morning talking about I should come to his house because he wants me to meet someone important. I'm very uninterested in meeting anybody for the simple fact that I'm tired and irritable.
"Hey sweet cheeks." My dad said, walking into the kitchen and kissing my moms cheek. "Hey princess." He said and kissed my forehead.
"Mario, talk to your daughter. She refuses to eat." My mom said, sounding defeated.
"I thought that pregnant people eat a lot. I mean, you are every damn thing in the house during your pregnancies. Had Lucia grocery shopping every week." My dad laughed and dodged the spoon my mom threw at him.
"I'm serious baby."
"Aight aight!" My dad mumbled some things under his breath before turning his attention to me. "Why are you not eating?" He asked.
"I'm just not hungry. I guess this baby doesn't want me to eat." I shrugged.
"I highly doubt that. Do I need to bribe you to eat?" He asked making me chuckle.
"I mean, what are we talking about here? New laptop? New purse?" I asked.
"You can get $50 dollars, the fuck." He scrunched up his face.
"But I already have $50 dollars."
"Then you gonna have a hundred and be happy. Probably go buy food with your pregnant ass." He rolled his eyes. I laughed and then took a bite from my rice.
"Baby, I'm gonna take your car later, ok?" My mom asked, batting her eyelashes at my dad.
My mom stay doing this and on a good day, my dad will say yes but he usually says no. When he says no, my mom does it anyways, my dad finds out, he gets mad, my mom does what she does, then they're booed up the next day. Little nasty ass old ass people.
"DUB! Nope, nope, and hell nah. Last time you drove one of my cars, what happened?" My dad asked, wanting my mom to answer the question.
"I told you I didn't see the stop sign!" My mom huffed and rolled her eyes.
"Yeah and you drove into someone. You totaled my car and you're not about to do it again. You have your own cars for a reason." My dad said.
"Mhm, yeah whatever." My mom mumbled.
My dad made a plate of food then walked out of the kitchen.
"I'm still about to take that car. I don't know what he thought this was." My mom mumbled. I laughed at her crazy ass because she's really gonna take his car.
"Since you're stealing dads car, can you drop me off at Rodney's house please?" I asked. She hummed and nodded her head as she took my plate away from me because I was obviously not gonna finish all the food on my plate.
"Are y'all gonna get back together?"
"I don't know." I shrugged.
"Do you want to be with him?" She asked
"I don't know. I mean, us being together seems like the most ideal scenario but I don't think it's going to happen. We've just grown apart."
"I feel like if y'all really want to be together, you'll be together. Y'all don't have to be together just because of a baby. Do whatever makes you happy." My mom said. Those are some very encouraging words.
