There were no words to describe how Bepper felt. Cold, terrified, shocked, perhaps. But no, nothing could describe the pain that attacked her heart. Skorm was gone. Gone forever. She would never see his smile again, never hear his laugh or feel his fur against hers. The last thing we did was fight... Bepper choked on a sob. Oh, what had she done? What had she ever done to deserve this? She had tried, but only if she had tried harder. She stood frozen, time frozen. All she could think of was the terrified look on his face as the waves closed in around him.
"Run!" The sound of splintering wood and snapping vines smashed the silence of Bepper's trance. A striped figure whished past her. Followed by a Aparri and New Jammer.
"Bepper!" She felt Wisteriamoon push her forward and she stumbled to her paws, watching in horror as the wolves disintegrated the vines and leapt onto the ground, giving chase.
"Run run!"
Too shocked and horrified to even think, Bepper ran, her heart in her throat. Wisteria raced after her, eyes wide as the wolves followed them. The jammers ran faster, and the wolves dropped back; disappearing. Bepper kept running, between trees and through bushes. She squeezed her eyes shut, her breathing hard. This was too much. She smacked into something solid. Oof! She fell backwards, looking up to see Julian. Beside him was Deplin, Aparri, and New Jammer.
"Bepper! Wisteria!" Julian exclaimed. There was something familiar in his eyes, and a gleaming purple and silver sword sat in his sheath.
"Do we have everyone?"
"Skorm..." Bepper broke down into sobs, her heart shattering. No. this had to be a dream. Skorm had to be alive.
"I'm sorry... " Wisteria crouched down and brushed her pelt against Bepper.
"Why?! Why did this happen? I don't understand..."
"I don't either, but we must keep going." Deplin's eyes were brimming with sadness. Bepper jumped to her paws,
"No! Not without Skorm!" Tears streaming down her face, she bolted, back towards the river. She had to find him. She had to. How dare they just leave him! He could need their help! If no one else would, she would find him!
"Bepper no!" She felt a whoosh of air and Aparri skid in front of her, blocking her way.
"Aparri stop! Let me go!"
Aparri growled, "No Bepper you can't! I can't lose you!"
"You don't understand! I can't lose Skorm! Not now!" She took a step,
"Now let me go!"
Aparri pushed her down and she fell against him.
"Bepper; Skorm's dead, I'm sorry."
"No..." Bepper sobbed against him, her chest heaving with sobs.

"We can't stay here, its too dangerous," Julian's voice was strained.

"Help! Somebody help!"
Bepper jumped to her paws, it was Skorm's voice! And he was in trouble! I knew it! I knew he was still alive! A surge of anger overtook her. How dare those wolves hurt Skorm!
"We have to help him!" Julian set off into a gallop up the hill, towards the stone fortress. The black cloud had covered the sky and it was dark as Bepper followed Julian. They had to save Skorm! How had he survived? The question rang in her head.
The hill sloped steeply and Bepper was breathless by the time that she reached the top. The fortress stretched above, huge and threatening.
"Help!" The cry called out again. Bepper jerked her head towards the sound; coming from behind a stone wall.
"I'm coming Skorm!" She yelled, sprinting into the small yard surrounded by stone walls. Skorm was on the ground; gagged, a half invisible arctic fox pinning him down. His eyes widened when he saw her.
"Bepper!" The other jammers burst into the yard.
"Get your dirty paws off-"
There was a clang of metal and Bepper whipped around. A gate had been shut on them!
"We're trapped!" Aparri yelled. The glitched fox stepped off Skorm.
"Yes you are," she turned to look down at Skorm,
"You can get up now,"
Skorm struggled to his paws, pulling off his gag. Bepper stared at him,
"You're alive!" But he avoided her gaze, as if he hadn't known her. Julian threw himself at the gate, but it didn't budge.
"Stop! We can't get open it, stop wasting your strength," Deplin pushed Julian away. The arctic fox laughed,
"Try as you will, but you'll not be able to escape. Right Skorm dear?"
Skorm lowered his eyes,
"Right"
Bepper couldn't believe her eyes. Skorm had betrayed them all! He had set this trap!
"How could you?!" Bepper yelled,
"I thought you loved me!"
"I... I do-"
"Skorm is over you, he has bigger priorities." The arctic fox swished her half invisible tail in Skorm's face. The pain Bepper felt now was worse than the pain of Skorm dying. She was losing him, losing his love. Losing his friendship, his trust. She stared at him, and her heart felt like it had been stabbed.
"I'm sorry" Skorm stood up straight, meeting her eyes. She shivered at the cold darkness in the blue depths;
"But I have to do this."
"Say goodnight!" The Arctic fox chuckled and they were surrounded with purple gas. The last thing Bepper saw was Skorm's form as she was plunged into darkness.

"Bepper!" A voice spoke in her ear, high pitched. Bepper opened her eyes, a dizziness at the back of her head. Where am I? She tried to stand up. Cold metal clinked under her claws.
"Bepper!" The voice squeaked louder. Bepper looked up. Facing her, behind metal bars was a purple and pink face.
"Ah!" Bepper scrambled backwards, finding herself in a enclosed cage.
"Peck?!"
The bunny nodded, looking worried,
"Are you okay?" Bepper sat up, seeing that Peck was in another cage adjacent to hers. She turned to find that her cage was against the wall. Along each wall of the stone room a line of cages stood. Bepper felt a wave of panic. Where were her friends?!
"Aparri!? Wisteriamoon!?"
"Over here!" Aparri's voice echoed from a cage opposite of Peck's. Bepper breathed a sigh of relief.
"And I'm over here with New Jammer!" It was Wisteriamoon's voice.
"Are you all okay? A deep voice spoke.
"Sir Gilbert!" Julian exclaimed from across the room.
"Are all the alphas here?"
"All except for Greely and Liza," Cosmo responded.
Bepper spoke up,
"Can't you use your powers?"
She was interrupted as the huge wooden door creaked and a figure stepped in. A black wolf. The black wolf.
"Ah, you're awake; just in time to watch me release The Shadow and take over Jamaa!" He laughed. Sir Gilbert snarled,
"You can't get away with this Dex! This isn't who you really are!"
The strange creature smiled,
"Oh, it's a bit too late for that." He held a greened copper ring above a imprint in the wall.
"Time's up"
