I ran into the school doors just before I was late. I made a sigh of relief when I saw that people were still at their lockers which meant that I still had time before first period. I let out a yawn and made my way towards my locker.
Last night was a living hell. Trying to control the maniacs and get them to calm down took all night and I barely got any sleep.
I reached my locker to find Emma and Abby chatting about who knows what.
"Ava! Where have you been?" Abby asked.
"I slept in too late, my brother had his friends over and they were animals." I replied, and yawning after.
"Oh, but your uniform looks great." Emma said as I looked down, almost forgetting what I was wearing.
Our school colors were red and black because we were the Falcons. "Thanks! Yours too." I said because she was wearing the same one.
"Is anybody gonna comment on my outfit?" Abby askes, looking at us.
I opened my mouth to speak but Emma beat me to it. "What the heck is that? A potato sack?"
"Yes, it's the latest fashion." Abby said and flipped her hair. We laughed and walked to our first period class. I walked into Mrs. Jones class and took my normal seat. Mrs. Jones walked in right before the bell.
"Okay, this is a busy day everyone. We are doing a project about how the environment changed from 15 years ago. You will be assigned a partner to complete this assignment that is due next week."
Mrs. Jones held up a peice of paper and explained the standards the project has to meet. "Now that's taken care of, I will give you your partners."
Mrs. Jones announces a list of names from another peice of paper. I zoned out the first part until I heard my name.
"Aiden and Jacob,"
"Marco and Natile, and... Aaron and Avalon." My head shot up so fast I almost fell over. I looked at Mrs. Jones face with wide eyes. I also noticed that the chatter stopped. It was completely quiet. Everyone must know that I want nothing to do with Aaron and he wants nothing to do with me.
"Is there a problem Ms. Jane?" She asked with a wide smile. I then realized that she must be joking, she has to be joking.
I started to laugh. "Ha! Oh, wow. That's a good one Mrs. Jones." I said and wiped away a fake tear. She looked at me and her eyebrows furrowed.
"I never knew you were such a great comidean!" I continued.
She just looked at me blankly. "Okay, Avalon. Everyone, use the rest of the class to start on the assignment."
My face dropped and I realized that she wasn't joking. Then reality slapped me in the face so hard I thought I would have a mark. I have to work on a project with Aaron. I have to actually communicate with him.
I could just be over reacting, he might not even be here, and I could work on my own and get an easy A. I turned around to Aarons normal seat to see the dark haired demon.
Yep, he was definitely here.
He had this stupid smirk on his stupid face. He nodded his head towards the empty seat next to him. I did not want to go over there but I want my A. I gathered my stuff and stomped over to the back of the class. I collapsed in the seat and crossed my arms, looking forward. Looking anywhere but him.
"Well someone's not happy to see me."
I looked up and glared at him. "Look, I don't want to do this and neither do you. So let's not talk to each other more than we have to and get this over with." I blurted out.
