Chase's P.O.V
*Before the big mistake*
I just stare into her big green eyes. Those eyes that can capture you and make you lose your toughts. There was something breathtaking about them.
Maybe it was the fact that they belonged to the one and only, Avalon Jane.
"Ava, it's 17." I finally said.
"No it's not. It's 19, you weren't supposed to divide it."
I huffed and crossed my arms, being childish. I just now realized that she was right, like always. But I didn't want to admit it. "Let's just put 18 because it's in between our answers."
She showed her beautiful smile and wrote down 18 while I did the same.
Damn Chase, you sound like a girl.
Just then an idea sparked in my mind. I picked up her hand and looked at it. "Has anyone ever told you that you have really small hands?"
"Um, no." She said, looking confused.
I held my hand up next to hers, loving how soft they felt. "That's okay." I laced my fingers with hers. "It's a perfect fit."
Ava finally looked up at me and blushed.
Wow, just when I thought she couldn't get any cuter.
The moment was ruined when the bell rang. The one time I don't want the bell to ring, it does.
I wish math class was just a little bit longer.
Said no one ever.
I let go of her hand and told her that I would see her at lunch. She just nodded and I walked off to my next class.
*****
"Thank you!" I said when the bell rang, signaling science class to be over. I got an annoyed glance from the teacher but I didn't care. I just wanted to get the hell out of there.
I walked out of the classroom and towards my locker.
"Chasey!"
I groaned at the all too familiar voice. What the hell kind of nickname was that? I stopped in front of some lockers and slowly turned around.
I took a big sigh and saw Ally making her way over to me.
"Hey, Ally." I said in a not so enthusiastic tone. Actually not at all.
She giggled hysterically. I didn't even say anything funny. "You should totally come over this weekend." She said twirling her blonde hair. "We could have lots of fun."
"Actually, I'm kinda busy this weekend." I said trying to be settle.
She looked disappointed. "Maybe you could come over tonight?" She asked, batting her fake eyelashes.
"I'm loaded with homework. You know how much jocks care about school, right?" I said sarcastically.
She huffed. "Fine." She looked back up to me and smirked. "Maybe you could give me a kiss right now."
This girl does not take no for an answer. "Nah, I think I'm good." I said, starting to walk away.
"Why? Would you rather kiss your little slut?" She yelled to me. I quickly turned around. She was talking about Avalon.
"Do not call her a slut." I said, getting angrier every second. "If anything, you're the slut, Ally."
Her eyes got dangerously dark. She stepped closer so only I could hear what she was saying. "You better watch what you're saying, Holt. Don't forget who's daddy is the coach of the football team."
My eyes widened before she continued. "We wouldn't want to lose our spot now would we?"
I slowly shook my head. "That's what I thought." Ally said before she grabbed my neck and forcefully smashed her lips to mine.
I hate this. I hate this so much. I even hate this more than science class. If I push her away, I'll loose my spot on the team, which could risk my career. Which could also risk my future. Her lips were still on mine while my hands were in my pockets.
Nope. I don't want none of that.
I saw someone move behind Ally.
Shit.
I broke away from Ally and locked eyes with Avalon.
She saw the whole thing.
Ava tried to speak but she was struggling. Her eyes were glossy and I could tell she was trying not to cry. She tried to say something but instead walked away.
Nice f*cking going, Chase.
"Ava, wait!" I yelled after her. She ignored me and turned down the hallway. I was going to run after her until I felt someone hold my arm back.
"Chase, what are you doing?" Ally said. "You don't need her. You have me, and as long as you are mine, your career is safe."
I looked at her, then back down the hallway. Life was all about making choices. How do I know which one is the right choice?
I slowly nodded and walked down the hall. Ally smirked and walked beside me.
I definetly made the wrong choice. It sucks that I didn't realize that before it was too late.
