Recap:
“Well, welcome to East Garden City. Have you ever been here before?” I said.
He shook his head. “Nope.”
“Oh, well I’ve been here at the orphanage my whole life.”
He looked at me. “Really?”
“Yeah. Don’t worry, you’ll catch on quickly. You seem like a smart kid," I joked.
He smiled. “That’s good. Hey, what was that one kid talking about? Something about murders?”
“Oh,” I laughed. “He was talking about me.” I placed Danny’s bags neatly on the ground, and extended by hand.
“I’m Cat, nice to meet you.”
Danny eyed me before taking my hand and chuckling softly. “It’s nice to meet you, too, Cat.”
Chapter Nine
“Why, hello there,” a voice called. May, Carmen, Taylor, Danny, and I whirled around to face the speaker. We were in the middle of giving Danny a tour of the orphanage.
The person that spoke was a girl named Sasha. She was fourteen, and very flirty. She had guys her age wrapped around her finger. She also had the attention of some kids younger, like ten to thirteen year olds.
Sasha steeped forward, while gracefully holding out her hand. “I’m Sasha. I’m Aries, I like sweet things; guys like you, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy my company,” she said sweetly.
“Okay?” Danny said, looking confused. Ah, what a good kid.
Sasha looked at Danny excpectantly.. “My hand is extended . . .”
“And?” Danny asked.
Sasha stomped her foot. “You’re supposed to take it!”
Danny looked at her hand like it was the most disgusting thing he had ever seen. “I’m good."
“Burn!” Carmen exclaimed, stretching out the u.
Sasha flicked her hair back and rolled her eyes. “Whatever." She turned back to Danny. “If you ever need me, call me.” She slipped a piece of paper into his front pocket, and winked at him. Then she sashayed out of the room.
I looked over at Danny. He looked extremely amused.
“So, you’ve met Sasha,” I said to him. “Now, let’s finish our tour.”

We finally led him into our last stop, the kitchen, after forty minutes. I hadn’t had lunch, and my stomach was rumbling like a beast. It needed food now.
“Cat, I think your stomach has some wild bears living in there,” Danny joked. “We should feed them.” He poked my stomach. He and I had hit it off so far. It felt like we had known each other for much longer than a couple of hours.
I glared at him playfully. “Bears don’t live in my stomach, okay? Beautiful, majestic--”
“Bears!” Danny interjected.
I rolled my eyes. “Let’s just feed this savage beast, shall we?”
Everyone, including me, ran over to a tray full of cupcakes. I was about to be the first one to get one, when we heard a shout.
“Stop! And leave the cupcakes alone!” Miss Shay shouted from the doorway. “We have guests coming over.”
“Again?” Taylor asked. “Haven’t we already had enough excitement?”
