Chapter 48: Gifts

- Yui's POV -

Alarm Rings

Ughhhh. School. I got up and did my daily routine.

Front Door Opens

"Who could that be?" I asked while I was in the restroom.

My eyes widened. I tippy - toed downstairs and went to the kitchen. Then I saw what I was looking for....

THE FRYING PAN!

I told the frying pan and headed for the front. I tried to be sleek and saw someone I didn't expect.

GRANDMA!

"Hello dear." Grandma said with a smile.

Tears started to fall down my face. Then I smiled back. "Welcome back, Grandma." 

- Diachi's POV - 

Bell Rings

"Hey, you guys know where Yui is?" I asked the guys. 

"Nah. She didn't say that she was going to be absent." Akio answered.

 "Oh okay." 

Is Yui sick? I just go check on her. 

In front of Yui's house

Should I knock? Maybe she isn't home. Then the door opened. 

Yui was standing in front of me... and looking straight at me. I blushed, then she blushed. 

"Oh hey." Yui said while looking down. Then I saw someone behind her. 

"Yui, who is this young man?" She asked. 

"Oh yeah. You guys never meet." Yui stepped backwards. "Grandma this is Diachi Domoto, my classmate." Yui smiled. 

Grandma, huh? Grandma just kept staring at me. So I panicked. 

"Um...um..." I couldn't say what I wanted to say. "IT'S A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU, MA'AM!" I yelled and bowed. 

- Yui's POV -

I sweat-dropped and awkwardly smiled. 

"I'll leave you two alone." Grandma smiled. "I'm gonna rest for a bit. Don't stay out too late." 

"Oh okay." I said a little disappointed. Then, Grandma shut the door. 

"So...." I looked back and didn't know how to start the conversation. 

"Sorry, if I bothered you." Diachi said while scratching his head. 

"Oh no. I was just heading out. Is there a reason why you're here?" I asked. "I mean, it isn't like I don't want you to be here or anything!" I said while blushing. 

Then he started to blush. "Um... I just came to give you your homework assignment, since you were absent today." He said while looking up in the air. Then Diachi gave me the worksheets. 

"Thanks." I said while holding them. 

"Wasn't your grandmother in the hospital?" Diachi asked which changed the mood. 

"Yeah, but she came back today. So I wanted to spend time with her." 

"Sorry then. I disrupted your time with her." He bowed. 

"It's okay. I was just about to head out anyways." 

"Really? Can I join you?" He asked. 

"Sure." I smiled. "Just let me put back the worksheets." Then I went back in the house.
