Lucius's POV
Mistress has been quiet for a while... i wonder what's on her mind. I sighed as i tried to focus on the road ahead. I wonder if she'll notice this path we are taking.. it was the path that went by the Shadowhive Mansion and since it had been a while since she saw her home i figured it would rouse some sort of emotion from her. The sun was beginning its slow decent from the sky casting an array of reds, oranges, some pinks and purples here and there. The sky was a painting and as we cleared past the cluster of trees the mansion was in full view. I smiled as i sensed movement from inside the carriage. Lucius stop the carriage!! I heard her shout with earnest. I chuckled coldly as I brought the carriage to a stop. I stepped off the driver seat and blinked as i saw the door open. Jade emerged as if in a trance. She stepped forward and walked towards the gravel path that wound its long distance to the front of her home. Her dress was a simple black dress, it was what she always wore once a gruesome case was solved. Some sort of symbolic reference to those who passed on. Her long hair flowed behind her in a gentle wave. I stood a few steps behind her as she kept walking. I wondered what was going through her mind now....

Jade's POV
My home.... my real home... I felt a strange sensation of comfort as i stared at its massive structure. The setting sun cast a warm glow on my dark manor. I felt like it showed signs of neglect and decay.. I could see my office window from where i stood... I lowered my gaze to my hand and stared at my wedding ring. What have i done.... i've forgotten my legacy.. my company.. I left it in the hands of my partners... I felt a hand rest on my shoulder.
"My lady... we must return to phantomhive manor... your husband is waiting."

I clenched my fists slightly and said slightly annoyed.

"Get me home fast... i have business to take care of in regards of my company.. get me my pets from underground.. I want detail reports of the city while i've been on my leave of absence. Get a room set aside for me to work in and get my files spread out. I will take my supper in the new office as well. You can inform my husband of that."

I moved my shoulder from out under his hand and climbed into the carriage. A new determination set in my mind. I was going to get my priorities back in order and first on the list was to finish my files on suspects for the mysterious scarred man.

Lucius's POV
I couldnt stop grinning as i felt her fuming more and more as she realized how much time she wasted trying to be a good house wife... i only wondered how she would react when Ciel told her his desire for an heir. I took my place once again in the driver seat and snapped the reigns making the horses jump to a start and take off. I peeked inside her mind and saw her piecing the information she knew to try and put a name to the strangers face.

Narrator
Ciel had been at the mercy of his fellow noblemen telling him of the need of heirs to take care of the company when he was old. It had burrowed into his brain to the point that he now wanted a son. Sebastian knew that Jade would take this badly and he was keeping a devilish grin hidden away to keep his master from getting suspicious. The sound of horses neighing echoed in the distance and aroused the young lords attention. Jade's carriage was racing down the pathway and it made Ciel nervous thinking something went wrong on her trip home. He rushed from his office unaware of the change that overcame his wife. Jade didnt bother waiting for Lucius to open her door she just walked briskly into the manor holding the corners of her dress as she kept a steady gaze on the path ahead. She was set in determination to get her priorities back on track. Ciel smiled and took her hand gently.

"Welcome home dear.. might i ask why you were in such a rush?"

"too much to do... i've wasted time... i must get to work."

Jade pulled her hand from ciel and walked up the stairs to her room to fetch her files. Ciel was confused.. it was the first time she had casted him aside. Lucius held the luggage and said to ciel in a calm tone.

"My lady is going to be taking her dinner by herself... she has asked me to create a study for her so she can work on her company..."

Lucius bowed and then went up the stairs. He went to an empty room and began preparing it to become jade's new office. Ciel was walking slowly up the stairs with sebastian wondering why she suddenly felt the need to dive back into her work.. Jade was scanning feverishly each file for anyone that resembled the man from her memory. Sebastian was grinning enjoying the show as his young lord felt neglected, the lady was in a mad fever to find her victim, and the serpent was the one who instigated the flame. Jade was carrying a large brief case and Ciel tilted his head slightly. He had never seen it before.... what was she hiding from him... Lucius was standing by in the new office and jade entered handing him the briefcase. She turned and closed the doors. The loud thud of the doors echoed in the now silent manor....

Ciel's POV
I had decided to return to my office... what was wrong with jade... she was distant. Perhaps this case affected her on a deeper level... I sighed and held my head in my hands closing my eyes.

"Young Master... my lady is insistent that she will be taking her dinner alone in her study..."

Sebastians words only fueled my concern for her. I looked at him and said flatly.

"Prepare dinner for two.... i will be joining her in her study...whether she likes it or not.. i am her husband and i want to see my wife."

Sebastian grinned that same devilish grin and bowed telling me it will be done. I went to my room and dressed a little more casually hoping that my casual attire would on some level make her calm down. After all women judge the matter of a conversation by appearance and behavior.

Jade's POV
It was the second time i had sent sebastian away on ciel's request.. I didnt have time to fool around with my husband... i had already told my partners to schedule a business meeting at the Phantomhive manor in regards of catching me up to speed. My pets underground were already preparing their notes to deliver to me on the upcoming friday. My files were scattered across my new desk and i sighed in defeat while gripping my hair as none of the pictures in my files resembled him... I had drawn a rough sketch and had been comparing them to each picture. If only i had some sort of clue... a note... a piece of clothing... anything.. it would at least further my investigation past this point of identity loss. I needed something that was part of his daily life... I looked at the picture of Elsie Lucius had put on my desk. I gently traced my fingers across her smile and then cast my eyes down. Dont worry elsie... i havent given up.... i refuse to let this bastard live with what he's done to our family.. I picked up my files again and began skimming over each of them. Starting with the doctors and physicians of high and lower class standing. He had a scar over his eyes so he must have seen a doctor... but who would he have gone to... which one do i interrogate... Knock Knock Knock...Jade.. My eyes lifted and i quickly closed my files as I heard him knocking. I shoved them all together and dropped them into the drawer and closed it quickly. I covered my desk with plans for tea combinations and dress designs. My body was tense as Ciel entered the room.

"Ciel i told you i dont want any company tonight.. i fell behind in my work..."

I watched him closely as he came over and then sat in the chair in front of my desk.

"I have something i wish to discuss with you...."
