Setting The Trap

Jade's POV

The sheet was draped over my head blocking the sun from falling upon my eyes, my fingers lightly touching my little one as we both slumbered. Still as i slept my mind stirring telling me it was time to wake, i couldn't help but feel something was amiss.... the little arm i kissed and held before seemed different. It was bigger, not much bigger but enough to feel a difference in width front to back. Perhaps i was just stroking her arm, i doubt she grew that much. After all lucius would have told me if demon children grew more. amma...ammma. My eyes shot open and I sat upright my head knocking against Lucius's chin causing him to groan annoyed rolling away, i ignored the pain though as i stared down into the crib.

"Jade.... was it a nightmare?"

"Lucius... look at lilly."

He grumbled more in some foreign tongue as he sat upright resting his chin upon my shoulder looking down at our daughter. She was.... she was definitely bigger, in fact she was so much so that i would say-

"6 months old dear..."

"Why is she 6 months old... s...she's only been here for two days on this world."

His hands took my own as he spoke softly to me.

"In our world, one day can be as long as 3 months, so naturally two days would be six."

"D....does this mean our little girl will age by 3 months every day?"

"It's hard to say, the only person i know that would have any clue about demon children is a longshot at best."

"Who?"

My arms lifted my darling girl and held her close her little hands reaching for me. It was incredible, she still looked at me with such wonder and amazement as she did the other day.

"We could ask michaelis, or maybe Jared."

"*blinks* jared?"

"children always seemed drawn to him when we were younger...well *chuckles* young-ish"

"Hmm.... Jared!"

I looked to the door and heard rapid steps followed by shouts and gunshots, most likely from mimi, echo in the halls. I groaned rubbing my forehead. I thought i told mimi no guns....knock knock, My lady you asked for me?

"Yes Jared come in"

He entered the room smirking as two bullets stuck in his arm, he shrugged pulling the bullets out and wrapping them in a cloth.

"I accidentally knocked mimi into the wall, needless to say she wasn't amused."

"Clearly, what do you know of demon children?"

"*raises brow* Can you be more specific?"

"Age rate to be blunt, Lilly was a tiny 2 day old infant, now she is a 6 month old..."

I saw him hold his chin in thought and glance over at Lucius in curiosity....what was he pondering? Did Lucius's strength cause this as well....

"As far as i know, demonic mothers dont typically nurse their young. This might be caused by a rapid age growth, I personally don't remember seeing much of my mother. I could also be wrong, our kind don't pay much attention to infants."

I pouted slightly seeing as i had more questions than answers. I gazed at my little girl and gently stroked her cheek.

"Is it possible to use demonic power to see if she will age again?"

"Perhaps, then again it could also cause another growth."

"Thank you Jared, you are dismissed."
