Jade's POV

I could hear the door open and close followed by the soft voice of Lucius echo in the room. I sighed staying on my side my eyes barely opening as i watched a silver tray rest upon my bedside table... I smiled softly and groaned sitting up. I opened my eyes fully and felt my heart sink as i realized this wasnt my room. Well it was my room but it wasn't at home. I looked to the window and saw Alois and Ciel sitting out in the garden eating what looked like breakfast but from where i was i couldn't be sure.

"Alois and Ciel are getting along, theres no shouting and there actually seems to be peace... Am i still dreaming?"

"No mistress you are awake, it appears that after you went to sleep they agreed to some sort of truce. Your tea for this morning is your Dragons Eye tea."

I took the warm cup and brought the warm liquid to my lips and felt it pour down my throat. I almost wanted to whimper from how much i ached to be in my own home..

"Something wrong mistress?"

I sighed and looked back to the window.

"I dont know lucius... i have lived in this manor for two years now and i still feel like a stranger here...I miss the warmth of my home."

"My lady this home is plenty warm, i believe what you miss is the quiet."

"That as well but this home is not warm to me... here i am being met with the constant demand of attention. Ciel wants a child but he doesnt realize the way he nags at me for affection is similar to that of children."

I sipped my tea more not noticing the sly smile on his face.

Meanwhile outside in the garden we join Alois and Ciel for what Jade believes to be a nice breakfast.

Narration

Ciel sighed once more sipping his tea as he looked at Alois.

"It appears that my wife will not be joining us this morning."

"I take it she does this often?"

"More than i wish she did, i dont know what to do. She loves me but at the same time i feel like she's growing distant from me."

Alois had to fight the smile from showing as he sipped the tea in his cup. So their marriage was rocky... this could work to his advantage and with what Claude told him about Jade's wish for solitude at her home again. He could manage to drive Ciel in the wrong direction that will finally get Jade away from him and back to his arms.

"I thought that she would be pestering you for children at this point, from what i've heard many women are eager to become mothers after marriage."

Ciel scoffed and took a bite of his biscuit as he shook his head... most women weren't his wife and that was a fact. But a strange factor of her not wanting children still bothered Ciel to an extent. He never thought about being a father before but suddenly the desire to be a father and finally have a family again was becoming a new life goal for him. More so than the want to find the one responsible for his family's death.

"Its the complete opposite... she got very pissed at me for asking for children."

"Really?"

"Yes, she said that i wouldn't do much contribution and that she couldnt take more time away from her work. I sometimes feel like she cares more about her job than about having a family.... or even being married to me.."

Ciel slightly knitted his brow as he held his cup... why was he suddenly being so chummy with Alois and even more so why the hell was he telling him all this! Alois has been trying to steal Jade from him since the first day and here he was telling him intimate details about his marriage...Claude was hiding a slight smile as he chuckled inwardly. The bark root extract was working perfectly, lowering all of Ciel's defenses and putting him at ease to give out any information that popped into his little head. Clever thinking Michaelis... Great execution spider... Sebastian shared the smirk and said calmly to the young lords.

"Perhaps she is still shaken from the recent case, after all she had to deal with so many young girls deaths she probably doesnt feel in much of a mothering mood."

Alois grinned seeing an opportunity to make Ciel press more on an obviously sore subject.

"Yes! Perhaps if you showed her the joys of motherhood and talked about all the fun things you and your future children could do she would open up to the idea. I bet if you made a nursery and walked her through a night with your future baby she would melt into your arms."

"You really think so?"

"Absolutely! Oh i'll even take her into town as a distraction so that way it can be a surprise for her tonight."

Ciel held his chin in thought... this seemed like a horrible idea but then he remembered Elsie's room at the Shadowhive Manor... perhaps a girls nursery and talking about naming the girl Elsie would win her over... but then again it could horribly backfire. He couldnt respond before Alois exclaimed it was settled and began discussing color schemes that Ciel could use.

Let's Rejoin Jade shall we....

Jade's POV

Jade was looking at her maps trying to pinpoint where Michaelis said this tower was... in the forestlands near the old brook of Covet. Where the hell was he talking about!! Stupid demon giving stupid directions in stupid old language. Lucius was chuckling as he watched over her shoulder. His finger pointed to a small stream.

"This is the old brook mistress, its not old language either. Just a strange name."

I felt my cheeks burn as i slapped his hand off my map and placed a red X over where the tower should be located.

"I told you to stop reading my thoughts Lucius..."

"If i did that then i would never get to see the amusing images of my shirtless body entering your mind."

I groaned in defeat and rested my head on the desk. I leaned back and lifted my long hair up in my hands tying it up with a ribbon.

"Are you sure the puppet master would be willing to work for me?"

"So long as you promise him something of value he will listen."

"What could i possibly give him thats worth anything?"

"Im sure my lady will think of something, you are very smart after all."

I rolled my eyes and began looking through my files on the doctors and physicians i had in my possession. This wasn't all my files because i didnt have anywhere to hide them properly. I hoped that in the small stack i brought with me i could find some sort of start to a trail in finding my prey. I lifted my eyes to Elsie's picture and smiled.

"Don't worry Elsie, I'll avenge you soon."

I lowered my eyes again and skimmed through the details of each name until my eyes fell upon one Dr. Scheimmer McFay. I saw that he had a rather bad debt to a gang at one point then all the sudden his debt was paid off and his practice closed. I looked through my file on him more thoroughly and discovered that he took a year of absence before reopening his firm in the field of pediatrics. Wait a minute... I looked at the picture again and felt something tug at my brain.. My eyes widened slightly as i recognized him... The day those men were in the office with her father... he was next to the man with the scar..

"Lucius... when was the last time i investigated Dr. McFay?"

"I believe it was 4 years ago, why does my lady have a lead?"

"I recognize him... from before Elsie died, he was with the man with the scar in my fathers office... he's a henchmen. He'll know more about the man i seek."

"Lucius... I finally have a suspect to investigate in my quest for vengeance... I will finally get some answers to the questions i have been asking all these years."
