A Plan In Action

Jade's POV

I was pacing slightly in my office twirling a small bit of hair in my fingers. What excuse could I use to go see the doctor... I'm not pregnant and I don't have a fever. What's worse is that Alois is here so now my plan to get more information on him has backfired since she I discovered a lead. This lead was far more important than filling the rest of my file. I sighed and fell into my chair holding my head. damn it.. i need an excuse to go into town. knock knock! oh jade~ the hell? I lifted my eyes and saw alois come sauntering in like a giddy fool.

"I have the best idea ever! would you like to hear?"

I raised a brow suspiciously... what were you up to alois? And how could i spin this to my advantage. I put a small smile on as i leaned forward intrigued.

"Why yes Alois, im just dying of curiousity"

"I propose we venture into the town, look at some costumes for the upcoming birthday ball. Perhaps find a lovely mask for you to wear?"

"Why that sounds fantastic Alois, Lucius prepare a carriage at once and fetch my jacket."

Perhaps you have a use for me after all Alois. I began idle chit chat with Alois about potential costume ideas when Ciel approached us. I felt a small sigh heave from my chest as i met his eyes.

"You two leaving?"

"Yes darling, Alois is offering to help me find a costume for the ball. Would you like to join us?"

Sure having ciel with us would make things more difficult but i could use their feuding to be a distraction to sneak away to the doctor.

"No you two go out and enjoy yourselves, i have some work to review and sign in my office. Perhaps tonight we can spend some time alone together."

This was a pleasant surprise.... no possessive behavior, no angry glares or annoyed smirks. Hmm, perhaps having alois here and seeing how childish he was is making him rethink about having children. Maybe we can return to the way we use to be. I smiled softly at ciel and gave him a small kiss.

"Of course my darling, i look forward to it. You should try and have Sebastian buy you a new mask, we could try and have another guessing game this year."

Ciel smiled at me, a smile i hadnt seen in quite a while. It felt like all we had been doing lately was argue and bicker. It was nice to see him smile again.

"That sounds wonderful, you enjoy you shopping."

I nodded and took my jacket from lucius as he told us the carriage was ready. I found myself laughing slightly as Alois eagerly dragged me through the halls and out to the carriage. Faustus was driving and Lucius jumped onto the back of the carriage as Alois and I began discussing ways to disguise my appearance for the upcoming guessing game.

The plan has been put into action, Ciel now wonders the halls of his manor trying to choose the perfect room to transform into a dream nursery that Jade will adore. Sadly the trio are being played by the sneaky demons. Perhaps we should sneak a peek at what our master of the house is doing.

Ciel's POV

My heels clicked along the floors of the long hallway. This place seemed darker than usual, a strange weight was physically present and i could feel misfortune coming my way. I paused in my walk and stood in the silence of my manor.

"Something wrong master?"

"I sense something is off... Tell me the truth, is Alois going to try and steal Jade away from me?"
