Ciel's POV

I looked at the beautifully decorated table for two that was light by suspended twinkling lights similar to the stars above me as I stood on the porch in my garden. I admired the way the bushes were also decorated with the twinkling lights to make the roses glow slightly in the dark. The moon was full tonight and not a single cloud blocked its light. The flower bouquet in the vase was filled with orchids, roses, hydrangeas and other exotic flowers Jade adored. Everything was set.... and Jade had been informed of my plans and I was relieved that Sebastian was able to convince her to join me...I sat in my chair and waited for her to come down.

Earlier that night in Jade's Office

Sebastian's POV

I sighed annoyed as I finished getting the last of my tasks started... now came the dull part.. convincing the stubborn brat upstairs to come to dinner. I made my way to the study and knocked saying in an elegant tone.

"My lady may i come in?"

"Who is it?"

"Michaelis my ladyship... I have been sent up here to ask you a question on behalf of my master."

I could sense her sigh of annoyance from where I stood. She bid me to enter and I opened the doors to see her office chair empty. Lucius was standing by the desk though as he pointed to the couch near the fireplace. She was just staring into the fire with a blank expression. As if trying to be unreadable but as a demon I could see the troubled thoughts swirling through her mind as a young blondes screams followed by a man's cruel smile went back and forth in her minds eye. stay out of my mistress's head crow.... I turned and looked at lucius with a sly smirk. Oh? and what exactly is going to stop me from seeing the entertaining thoughts of your little contracts torment. Im warning you... State your business and then leave. I nodded and chuckled quietly to myself. I walked over to in front of the couch but made sure not to block her view of the fire. I bowed slightly.

"My lady the young master has requested your presence on the porch outside for tonights meal."

She didnt even give me so much as a glance as she responded emphatically how she refused to join him for anything after what he said to her. I kept the sigh contained within my chest as I replied calmly.

"But the young master has spent so much effort collaborating this evening meal for you, he only wishes to make peace with you. Surely that is not to much to ask?"

She scoffed and then began laughing as if amused by the thought of Ciel apologizing to her. She looked at me through slightly narrowed eyes and said flatly and quite rudely I would say.

"I suppose its not too much to ask....then again all I asked for was to have some privacy and to be undisturbed as I tried to catch up on my work only to have him barge in and demand an incredible task of me and when I rejected it he used a personal matter against me causing me to lose my focus on my work... but was i asking too much of my husband for a single day of privacy?"

I had a stone expression and I said rather flatly with a hint of annoyance at her childishness.

"To be fair my lady.... you have spent the past month focusing on a case without so much as seeing your husband and during this time fell ill causing your absence to linger for a little more over a month and the first thing you did when you returned home was shut yourself away to work on your company... so yes.. i believe you were overstepping your bounds by asking him for another day without his wife. You are the young master's wife... remember that... you are to be caring, loving and supportive of him and bear him children for his legacy... that is the job of a wife. If it was privacy you wanted and solitude you crave then you should have turned down the young lords proposal and stayed in your manor.... Dinner will be ready soon... I expect to see you fulfill your duties as a wife."

I turned and left the room with a cruel grin on my lips feeling the utter shock crash upon her from my harsh words and judgement while Dracovich's rage further amused me. I walked through the mansion and continued about my tasks.

After Sebastians Departure. Jade's Room.

Jade's POV

I had returned to my room after Michaelis left.... I was sitting on the stool in front of my vanity as Lucius prepared my attire for the night. I was staring at my reflection. What happened to me.... I was still the same beautiful and seductive fox as always but my eyes seemed to make me feel like I resembled some trapped creature screaming for freedom. I looked down at my wedding ring and thought to myself.... was this what my life would be..... no more freedom.... no more privacy.... only duty... I looked up and cast my eyes down to the star upon my arm in the reflection.. My fingers gently grazed over it and I felt the familiar warm burning sensation. Elsie....That man....That was my goal... my only chance to gain peace... I looked back up and stared into my own deep amethyst eyes. I saw the flicker...the fire within them. I smiled slightly and said to lucius.

"duty or not.... i will not put aside my task for the sake of appearance. If Ciel is unable to manage with that.... then he will be unhappy whereas I will be just fine."

Lucius nodded and then began dressing me for my dinner with my loving husband Ciel.

The Present

Jade's POV

I slowly walked through the doors of the patio to join Ciel for dinner... what would we talk about.. it had been almost two months since we spent the evening together and in that time i was wrapped in an embrace of ecstasy with lucius... Even thinking his name made my blood boil in desire and i fought the urge to turn and glance at him as he followed behind me. I watched Ciel walk to me with that same carefree smile.. it made my heart melt slightly and i felt myself smiling back at him as i always did. He spoke to me apologizing for how he was so rude and forceful about children and that hopefully i would join him in his chambers tonight and not spend another night away from him. He pushed my chair in for me and told me about how he had observed the progress of my company for me in my absence and that he made sure to keep it current on the trends for the dresses and to keep the pesky blenders of my tea company from annoying me during my case. I felt a slight relief fall upon me as i heard him say this but yet i also felt a little annoyed... it was my company he had no business burying himself in my family business. After all its not as if i am sketching doll and toy designs for the Funtom company. Dinner was elegant and delicious as always and i could feel Lucius staring at me from behind me as he played his violin with Sebastian. I kept nodding and giving short answers everytime Ciel directed a question to me.... my mind was focusing on more important things... the scar man has been evading me for far too long... where would he be hiding.. it was only a year or so that he contacted me with a taunt saying he was at my wedding so he must be in the city still. I will send my pets out on a search and have them do some break ins at abandoned houses if necessary.

"Jade you arent listening to a word i say are you?"

I blinked and looked away from the rose bush my gaze rested on and looked at Ciel.

"Why would you say that my love?"

"Because I asked if you would like to join me on a walk through the garden and you said that sounded nice dear do tell me more."

I felt a slight blush tinge my cheeks as I cleared my throat and stood up.

"Forgive me... i simply have a lot on my mind. A walk sounds very refreshing."

Ciel smiled and took my hand and began leading me into the garden and asked me to tell him of the thoughts troubling my head.
