TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of panic attacks in this chapter!(Idk if that's how i warn you all????)
Do you see it? There standing in the dark corner to your right? No? That's because it's now on your left, but closer this time. Do you see it now? Still no? Try turning around, for now it is behind you, closer still so that you feel its presence on you like a second skin. Quickly now, face forward because it's standing right in front of you. Ah yes, now do you see it?The horrific and beautiful creature, with its long and spindly limbs. The pale white and sagging skin hanging of its body as if it were a drenched curtain of velvet. Or if you can not bare to look at its body as it stands upright and towers over you, then gaze upon its face. Now that is a true marvel to behold, for this elongated face has no eyes yet it stares into your soul, pinning you in place. The eye sockets so sunken in that if it ever had eyes in the first place, these sockets would have swallowed them whole. Now move down to see that it has no nose, but do not be deceived for it can still smell you better than a bloodhound, though it is blind it will still find you. Even further down is its mouth, which is always upturned in a maniacal grin. And only when it peels back its thin lips, do you see the teeth, the beautiful rows of serrated teeth just waiting to rip flesh from bone. But worry not, the teeth are not what you should be fearing; oh no, what you should fear is its tongue. It is no ordinary tongue of a beast, it is the tongue of the devil himself. When the owner unhinges its jaw, the grisly muscle, slinks its way out just about a foot or so and hangs there, waiting to snatch its victim by the throat and drag it to its tapered tomb. Now that you have seen the creature at last and taken it in fully, won't you be so kind as to let it have just the tiniest bite? No? Well why not? You might as well let it, for there is no saying "no" to the creature, it will take as it pleases. Oh my, why have you turned and ran from it? It's only going to follow and my dear, as fast as you think you can run, it is faster and will catch you easily. So I ask again, why run? There is no point in fear now for you have sealed your faint, when you gazed upon it. But I do say it is enjoying the sport, it has been such a long time since this magnificent creature has been entertained by a meal. If you're lucky it might play with you a little bit, but only if you're good that is. Don't look now but it seems as though he is catching up, and oh goody he's even more delighted than usual as his smile has stretched even more so and he is letting a river of saliva trail behind him and his tongue is reaching out to embrace that beautiful, slender neck of yours. Oops, don't trip my dear, its a boring cliche amongst you humans. Don't look now, but he's even closer than before, surely you feel its hot breath tickling at the nape of your neck. My, my the fear in your eyes has gotten it all excited, it might not play with you after all, it just might it eat you right here. So close now, you feel the mucus-adorned muscle slip around your neck as if it was a simple noose, yes? Ah, see it's got you now, don't struggle for it is fruitless, either he will strangle you and watch as the life slowly slips out of your body's grasp or he will chomped down hard on your toothpick like bones and enjoy while you thrash about. It appears that he has chosen the latter for you, seeming as though he wants this lively meal to continue, now hush as it is about to take its first bite. now look, your beautiful crimson blood is staining his pure white skin, what a sight it is beautiful like the crea-
You bolt upright in your bed, sweating profusely in your sleep has caused the hair on your head to stick to your forehead like plaster. Eyes, wide and frightened, searching desperately for the hideous beast that had you in it's jaws not a minute earlier, but to no avail, you do not find it. You can't tell if you're relieved or more frightened. Reluctantly you give up your search and turn your attention to your current, sweaty state. Hot..it's too hot. You violently kicked off your blankets and quickly curl into a ball. You only now notice that your chest is heaving and has become tight, so very tight. Also your body is trembling, no shaking. You realize these are the signs of a panic attack, and a horrible one at that because the walls are closing in fast, and this darkness is suffocating and why is it so damn hot? Deep breaths, take deep breath. After what feels like an eternity of deep breathing, they even out and return to normal; the shaking hasn't stop at all. You roll out of bed and leave your room, padding quietly down to the kitchen. There you make yourself a large glass of cold water, which you take care to drink in small sips rather than large gulps to keep from choking. The water calms you as you feel the cool liquid slide down and settle in the pit of your stomach, the shaking has calmed to tremble that is barely noticed. Discarding your glass, you make your way back to your room and instead of heading back to bed you beeline for the window. You weren't quite ready to return back to the suffocating hell that is a queen mattress and maroon blankets.
