"I just have one question," I say to Loki, as we still sit in our cell, "Odin said that you picked me to come to Asgard, because you knew about the deep magic. But what is the deep magic?"

Loki thinks for a moment and then answers carefully, "The deep magic is the laws of magic-"

"Like the laws of science?"

"Yes, like that. But the laws that are on Asgard, a mortal can only reside there for a month, then the laws of magic would be broken and Asgard would end."

"What fool made up that rule?"

"The founders of Asgard."

"Oh."

"That's why you were chosen. Because you are a full-blood Asgardian."

"And also 100% American," I add.

He laughs at this and I see him smile. It's a true, genuine smile. It does not mock or scoff, but it is happy. That's something that you don't see in Loki everyday.

"So, how would Asgard cease to exist?"

"Asgard was built on these principles, once they are broken and lost, so is Asgard. Not even the infinity gems could change that."

"The infinity gems?"

"Yeah, if you put them all together, you can rewrite the laws of magic. Unless if, of course, something is founded on those laws."

"Hmm," I say, "Interesting."

We are silent for a moment and then I say, "Do you know what's weird?"

"What?"

"People keep kidnapping me. What's up with that?"

Loki laughs and says, "You're just a worthy trophy to have."

"Trophy? Is that what I am?" I ask jokingly.

"You know that's not what I meant."

"What did you mean, then?"

"You're just fun to kidnap."

"Was I a fun prisoner?" I ask.

"What?"

"When you imprisoned me, was I fun to have?"

"If by fun you mean, annoying and always right, then yes."

"I was always right?"

"Well, you had the right assumptions," he says as if he complemented me to much.

"Assumptions about what?" I ask, now quite curious to know what I was right about.

"Well, me," he says and then adds, "About how I hate to be called a monster."

"But you call yourself one."

"Yes, but me saying one thing is different then someone else saying that same thing."

"Because you believe you are one but when other people say it, it hurts because then you know it to be true," I finish for him.

He nods silently.

"Hey," I say trying to get his mind off our current situation, "Have you ever heard of a thumb war?"

"A what?"

In a few minutes Loki and I are engaged in an intense tournament of thumb wars. Loki usually wins, but I have my small victories.

"Gotcha!" He says as he holds my thumb down again. He wears a smile that he had on earlier. This time it is not full of thankfulness, but enjoyment.

"Ready, set, go!" I yell as a new round begins.

"What are you doing?" Thor asks.

"We are in the middle of a tournament," I explain to Thor. Wait, Thor?

I whip my head around to see Thor standing in front of our cell, the door wide open. The face he wears is priceless.

"Thor! You're here!" I exclaim, "But how did you open the door?"

"I just, toyed with the lock," he says as if its the most obvious and easiest thing to do.

Author's note: I have decided, with the help of @wolfia1501, to split this book into three. So there are a few chapters left on this one and then I'll start the next. Thank you to all who read, voted and, commented! Love you! And also, I was wondering if I wrote a Thor fanfic, would you guys all read it?
