Hidden Essence

Chapter 3

The head masters office was down a long old hallway. That looked like it hadn't been in use for a long time. When we walked in the head master was at his desk.

"Hello you three must be he Millers." He said.

"Yes sir that would be us." I said. "I am Sophie, this is Skylar, and this Mic."

"Very nice to meet yall. My name is Andrew Woods, and I am the head master. Well I know you're wondering about your schedules so we will start with Mic. Here is yours and here is your room key. You are in D16, in the boy's dormitories and your bags should already be there." He said. Mic thanked him and left.

"As for you two, you will have to be put in different rooms. We only have two rooms with one person living in them." He said.

Ah shit this is not good. I looked at Skylar and I could tell she was thinking the same thing. We prefer to sleep in wolf form and go hunting at night.

"Wait'' I said "Can we still go out for hunts?" I asked.

"I'm afraid not the student here are not very.....understanding if new students have special privileges." He said. "Well here is your schedule Skylar and your room is C10 in the girl's dormitories. Sophie here is yours and you are in E12. Please feel free to come back here with any questions you have."

Skylar and I walked toward the east side of the campus towards the girls dorms.

"Can you believe that? They told alpha we would be rooming together! But now they go back on their word." Skylar said.

"Ya I'm pissed to. But we have to deal with it." I said.

When we got to the dorms I helped sky find her room, and promised to meet her and Mic for dinner. Then left to find my room.

My room was on the top floor of the building. The door was antique looking just like the rest. But something about the door was different but I couldn't tell what. I opened the door and walked in to find my roommate still asleep in her bed.

When the door shut behind me with a bang she woke up "Hello" I said, "I am Sophie Miller your new roommate."

"Oh hi, I didn't know you would be here this soon. I am Katy Shall." She said.

Since it was Saturday we had no classes, so we talked about our lives for almost 4 hours. "Really you lived in Oregon?" she asked.

"Yup, and I really miss it to, it's the only home I can really remember." I said.

"Wow, I'm sorry. Well at least your parents aren't rich snobs who could care less about you. I guarantee they haven't realized I've been in school for a month now." She said.

"I'm sure they noticed, and hey I know I'm the new kid, but want to eat dinner with me and my siblings?" I asked.

"Ya I'd love to, infact you three can come sit with me and my friends." She said.

Katy wasn't the most popular girl at the school, but she sure did have a lot of friends. All the girls on our floor were in her group of friends.

"So do they really make everyone eat lunch in there dorms?" I asked.

"Yup and god knows why. It's so stupid though. Oh and you need to read the rule book." She said.

We ate lunch in our room and then she took me on a tour of the campus.

"Wow this school was built in 1842." I exclaimed.

"Ya it was, well all of it except the student lounge. But you know what I like the best? Is the founder, he was Charles Goldstone he was also the first headmaster. But one morning he was found dead in hunter hall. They say he had his throat slit, the cut was so deep it hit his jugular, but there was no blood in his body. And his hands were covered in fur with long sharp nails. No one had ever seen him with his hands that way and the murder was never solved. Pretty strange huh?" she asked.

"Ya very." I said.

It sounded like Charles Goldstone was a werewolf. And only his hands were transformed. He must have been attacked and tried to transform to protect himself and never finished. But what killed him? I have never heard of any werewolf that kills like that. We make the kill with bites and our claws, but we never drain the blood. I have to find out what happened to him. And why would Alpha send us here if he knew there might be danger lurking here?
