Hidden Essence

Chapter 15

The headmaster or my father sent for Jack to come to his office."What do you mean Jack is in danger?!" I Demanded.

"Be patient my dear, when he gets here i shall tell you." My father said.

I was still seated and Bryan was standing behind me, but Katy was near the back of the room, when Jack walked in she flung herself into his arms. "It's ok Katy" He said to her as he began to stroke her hair. Katy was  shaking but Jack was able to calm her down enough to be able to walk over to the desk. "You sent for me?" He asked the headmaster. 

"Yes i did, I have been told you know of Sophie's secret, well she knows of your now to. She is also starting to remember." the head master said. 

"Yes i know she is a werewolf and now so am i. But she already knew this." Jack replied.

"No not that secret, our secret." He said to Jack.

"Oh that one." Jack stated.

"Yes! that one! Why didn't you  tell me Jack?" I asked him.

"You have no idea how badly i wanted to tell you Sophie. When dad told me you were alive and coming here i was so excited. I missed you so much, then when i was turned into a werewolf and we went hunting it felt like old times when we would race through the forests without a care in the world. I am so sorry that i lost you that night Sophie i have never forgiven myself." Jack said to me. Without realizing it i had gotten up and was in his arms saying "It's ok Jack i forgive you, and thank you."

"So uh dad does anyone else know?" I asked him.

It's so good to hear you say that again, and yes but only professors James, and Robert." He told me.

"Ok but i dont understand about Annie i lived in that house for two years and never once saw her." I said.

"That's because of either two things, one they have changed her appearance to where your memories would not be triggered by her sight. Or which i hate to dwell on, that she is dead." My father said to me. "Well i want you four to head out and don't act suspicious around anyone, and Sophie do not trust anyone except myself, Jack, Katy, Bryan, and professors James and Robert. Nobody else can be trusted right now." He said to me.

We walked down the hallway then i told them we needed to go somewhere where we could all talk. So we headed back to the attic Katy had lead me to earlier. When we got there i sat down and leaned against  one of the bigger trunks, Bryan sat down and pulled me into his arms. "So Jack what was it like?" I asked him.

"What was what like?" He replied.

"My life, our family, our parents, what did i miss?" I Asked him. I need to know, i feel empty not knowing who i am.

"Well for starters i am older than you by a year, although i may not look it. I would lay my life down to protect you. You where the sweetest little vampire, you thought if you drank blood you would be Dracula. When you would have a meal you would put on your favorite white shirt and lack cape and scream "I want to drink your blood!", then we became teenagers and we moved here and dad took the job as headmaster but we went to local schools. Which i am not sure why but still, in the summer we would go to California so mom could be near the ocean. She loved the water it was like heaven on earth for her. You and her would always pick out new swim suits each year, then we would go to the beach and you two would play in the water for hours while dad and i laid on the sand. She spent very moment as if it was her last. That's what you get from her. But then one day you came home with a new friend you met at the beach. But you know the story from there." Jack told us.

"Wow i cant believe i forgot all of that. I wish i could tell her i'm sorry." I said. 

:Sophie from what i hear it was not your fault, you had no reason to think anything bad about her." Bryan said to me.
