Hidden Essence

Chapter 11

So the next few chapters are gonna have a twist in them..... :) Don't stop reading loves let's see what Sophie finds out from someone she has forgotten she once knew!

They released me the next day after classes had ended, Bryan had come to help me back to my room. As we walked out of the nurses wing i noticed that not many people were outside today, probably do to the cold weather. "Thanks for bringing me my coat." i said to him. 

"Well i wouldn't want you to freeze, im pretty sure a wolf sickle would taste bad." He said to me with a wink. He always made my heart jump when he said things like this to me. He was the best part of my day.

"Oh really i thought i was always cold at heart." I replied back to him.

"I think your bite is worse than your bark anyways Soph." He said to me with a slight smile.

"As long as you remember that." I said with a giggle.

"Hey Bryan i need you to stay with me when we get to me room, there is something i need to talk to you and Katy about." I said to him.

"Ok, is everything alright?" He asked me.

"Im not sure i dont think so though." I said to him.

When we got back to my dorm Katy was laying on her bed reading the Tiger's Curse. When she saw us her face lit up "Oh my god, have you read this Sophie?! It is so amazing. I am in love with Ren he sounds so hot!" She said excitedly 

"wow slow down, first yeas i have read all four books and i loved them so much! Ren is mine!" I said while laughing. "But anyway there is something i need to tell yall." 

"Ok here it goes, well since i had to stay an extra day in the clinic i tried sleeping the whole time. I was fine during the day but i couldn't sleep when night came. I realized i was hungry so i went looking around the place for something to eat. I saw a fridge but when i opened it all there was were some weird looking red pills in a box. Disappointed i went to turn and go back to my bed, but i caught the scent of a familiar smell. It was at the back of the clinic, i went to check it out i saw clumps of hair, and when i went to open it the handle was freezing and there was cold air that came out of it. As i opened it i heard foot steps coming so i ran back to my bed and pretend to sleep."  I told them about the conversation between the head master and the nurse. 

"Ok you first said there were red pills in the fridge, two your past is catching up with you and fast, three that you and jack are the only known werewolves with multi colored fur." Bryan stated to himself."Well i know about one of those. The red pills are human blood. We put it in pills for vampires who want to stop drinking from humans directly. Or we use them to help adjust new vampires to the sensation of the blood and help them control there cravings. The pills are strong you can take three and be satisfied causing your hunger to go away. But we have no new vampires here right now and no vampires transitioning off of human contact so i dont know why they are here. Maybe just a spare storage in case." Bryan said.

"So is Jack like you now Sophie?" Katy asked me with sad eyes. 

"Im sorry Katy he is a werewolf now."I replied to her.

"So the reason i haven't seen him is cause he is in the nurses wing?" She asked me with tears coming to her eyes. You could tell she was dyeing inside with not knowing what exactly happened to him. 

"I think so but i didn't see him so i cant say for sure." I said to her. "He may be back in his dorm now but just cant come out just yet."

"Sophie we need to talk to him. If you two are the only multi colors we need to know why." Bryan said to me.

We walked to the boys dorms and i swear it was cold enough for snow but there still was none. "Why isn't there a damn heated tunnel for us to walk in." I complained.

"Because they wanted to torturer us with your complaining, what room is he in anyway?" Bryan asked.

"D11" Katy said. he was only a few doors down from Bryan. 

"What time does the lobby guy take a break?" I asked them. Right as i said that he started to get up then leave his post for what i assumed was the bathroom. "Katy when we get up there i want you to be the first one he see's" With that we ran to the stair case. When we got to the room Katy knocked on the door but no one answered. "Does Jack have a roommate?" I asked.

"Not that i know of, jack and i were the only guys who didn't have roommates when the school year started." Bryan said.

Katy knocked on the door again. "Jack it's me, are you in there?" She asked the door.

When there was no answer again i took out a bobby pin out of my hair and picked the lock on the door. After jiggling it around for a few moments i heard the click and the lock was undone. I stood up and opened the door slowly. Katy walked in first with Bryan and i at her back. The room was horrible looking as if a tornado had gone through here. The two beds were a mess, it looked like all of his clothes where on the floor. But as i was looking around i noticed the closet was shut. As i walked over i noticed pieces of hair leading the way. When i got to the  door i turned the knob and stood back as i opened it. All of a sudden a white and gold werewolf runs out of the closet and backs up into a corner, he starts to growl at Katy and Bryan. I shift and jump in front of them and show my teeth, now Jack will only be a threat to me. When he see's me he seems startled like he didn't expect me to change. Jack starts to calm down and shifts back. I follow in suit "Jack we are not here to hurt you we only wanted to ask you a few questions." I said to him gently.

"I know im sorry, it's just been very hard these past few days." He said to me. His face looked drained i could tell it was taking a big toll on him.

"I know it is, i will help you with that, but i have a few questions for you first." I said.

"What do you want to know?" He asked me.

"Did Mic and Skylar attack you?" I asked first.

"Yes" He said.

"Where did they bite you?" I asked. He showed me his right calf and it was a huge mark. "Ok that is all i wanted to ask you."

"I have something i am wondering." Bryan said.

"What?" Jack asked.

"Why is coated multi colored like Sophie's?" He asked him.  

"Well i asked the headmaster and he said we are the only two known who have them." Jack said.

"Did he say why?" Bryan asked.

"Yes..... he did. We got to talking about my past and i was born to two Vampires so i was considered a pure blood. Once i told him that he said it was all starting to make since." Jack said.

"What started to make since?" I asked him.

"Only a pure blood vampire can be changed into a werewolf, it would not work if i was a regular vampire i would have simply just died. These vampire turned wolves will have multi colored pelts. It's kinda like an identification thing. But since there are so few pure bloods in the world it makes it rare to have one be turned." He said to me. 

Bryan, Katy, and I sat on the floor trying to process the information. If what Jack was saying was true then..."Sophie i think i understand now." Bryan said to me as things were starting to click in my head. He spoke what i was thinking. "You were once a pure blood Vampire." He said to me.

Is it weird that the whole chapter i was listening to Little Mix and Kevin Rudolf's (Let it rock) hahaha. So when i was in 8th grade i loved the series Cirque du freak books and every time i started reading them (Let it rock came on the radio) Ya im old haha. 

But damn what a shocker Sophie hope yall are ready for a ride loves it's about to get really interesting. Stick with me i promise im not that crazy :)
