Hidden Essence

Chapter 6

The rest of the week went really great. Skylar and Mic were the only disappointments. I never saw them except for passing them on my way to different classes. It felt like they were avoiding me for some reason. On Friday Katy and I walked into biology and Bryan wasn't sitting at our table. But the note on my chair told me he had been there.

("Spoh I hate not being in class to see you. But if you can meet me by the library at 10pm") I couldn't help but smile really big while reading it. I knew Katy was looking at me, but I don't care I am in my own little world right now. My classes for the rest of the day went by in a daze, Katy kept trying to snap me out of it but nothing seemed to be working. I couldn't for when I was going to see him! I showed Katy the note once we were back in our room, she understood why I was dozing all day.

"I will cover for you if you end up being out past curfew." She told me.

"Thank you, I can't wait!" I replied happily. "I can't decide what I want to wear."

"Here wear this." She said to me as she handed me a pair of blue jean shorts and a blue and black baseball tee, with black converse.

"Thanks I think this will work." I said to her.

I left right at 9:50pm to head over. When I got there I saw Bryan leaning against a pillar by the front door. "Hey" I said to him as I walked up.

"I see the cat let you go." He said to me with a smile.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Ya looks like it, so why did you want to meet here and at 10?" I asked him.

"I wanted to ask you something and also tell you something. If you trust me." He said and grabbed my hand leading me to the woods that line the school. When we got to the place he wanted it ended up being off the path near the school somewhat deep into the woods.

He turned to me sitting down "Do you know what I am?" He asked me.

"Other than being Bryan Lynch no I don't know" I replied.

"Ok, well here it goes, I really like you and want to be with you but I need to know two things first. One if you feel same, which I hope you do. The second thing is that I am a vampire and I know you are a werewolf." He said to me.

Wait he knew I am a werewolf? But how since I haven't changed since I have been here. And did he just say he is a vampire, I didn't think they existed any more. Alpha had not mentioned them since I had been there. I know Mic would tell us stories about them.

"Please say something." He begged.

"How do you know I am a werewolf?" I asked him.

"I can smell you, you have a type of dog odor to you mixed with a rose scent. I have been told when a vampire smells there mate they know it. I couldn't get you out of my head from the moment I met you." He told me,

"So you're a vampire did not see that one coming. I do really like you and want to be with you. But do you really want to date a werewolf?" I asked him.

I hadn't realized I was looking at my feet until he lifted my chin. "Sophie I would follow you to the ends of the earth and back. That is how much you mean to me." He said to me. "So what do you say?"

"Yes!" I replied, "But you should probably see me in my wolf form first."

I stepped deeper into the woods not wanting to be seen and beckoned Bryan to follow me. When I thought we were deep enough I shifted I was a total of six feet high when I stood on all fours. I looked back at Bryan and then at myself my coat was shining in the moonlight like Skylar's did when she shifted.

"Wow your huge! But you're also very beautiful. It looks like I have tamed my dog." He said playfully

I shifted back and looked at him "No but I've caught my vampire." I said and intertwined my fingers with his, and we walked back to campus hand and hand. I was lost in my thoughts not wanting to leave him even though we would see each other tomorrow. I felt complete when I was next to him. He was perfect in my mind.
