Chapter 17: Remembering courage and love

It been 5 days since they girls saw them. They said that they would be back soon. Then they were gone not to be seen again until they fixed themselves.

Yuzu was on her bed looking at Odd-eyes. It gave her hope that Yuya would return to her and everything would go back to normal. She looked through her phone and looked at pictures of her and Yuya together. Some also were her and Yuya's friends and family. Looking through them gave her mixed feelings of happiness and sadness. Happiness for all the great memories and moments with Yuya and sadness for not having him with her. She would talk to her sisters and Yuya's friends and her own to try to keep herself occupied. She soon noticed that when ever she asked Sora what he knows anything about Yuya he tries his best to avoid the question and eye contact. She soon investigated further.

She called Sora to see if he wanted to hang out.

"Hello"

"Sora want to meet up to day?"

"Why?" Sora was getting suspicious because Yuzu never ask that before.

"Just cause. We can go to that ice cream shop Yuya told me you go crazy for."

"Okay I'll be there your buying though. I haven't forgotten about you throwing away my candy."

"Sorry about that I'll see you there. Bye!"

She hung up and prepared herself for what Sora would tell about Yuya

When she got there she saw Sora and ran up to him. "Sora glad not late." She said giggling. "Like I would pass up free ice cream but actually I'm waiting for a guy who challenged me to a duel." "Where is he then?" "He said he would be back with his deck." "Want to get ice cream while you wait?" Yuzu asked. "Okay!"

When Yuzu and Sora got their ice cream the guy came back. "Alright you ready to lose?" Sora just kept on licking his ice cream not even looking at him. "Can you wait? Besides I know your rank at school so you will lose fast." When Sora said that the guy got mad and grabbed Sora by the collar which cause Sora to drop the ice cream on Yuzu. "HEY!!!" Yuzu then pushed the guy off of Sora and took out her duel disk. "You want a fight well you got one!" "You won't last a single turn against me." He laughed which made Yuzu angrier at him. "If you want to duel then I will to prove that you are nothing like that candy cruncher and his friends. Especially that loser goggle boy." At this point Sora back off and hide behind a table knowing Yuzu has a very aggressive angry side. Yuzu said nothing but gave the guy death stares.

Yuzu then took out Odd-eyes. 'Let win this together. For Yuya.' When she thought that she heard a roar. It was almost like Odd-eyes responded to her with determination. Yuzu was shocked then took it as a sign to put him in her deck. "Lets duel!"

A few turns later Yuzu was against the ropes with only a fusion monsters Schuberta the melodious maestra while the guy had Chimeratech fortress dragon with 5000 attack points. 'What can I do now. His dragon has to high if attack points and he is still at 4000 life points. Maybe I should give up.' Yuzu thought as she felt defeated and broke. Soon she heard the roar again. Then she remembered 'when your back is against the wall and your frozen in fear put a smile on your face it will give you the courage to move forward and win.' Yuya's words that were etched into Yuzu's heart echoed in her head. 'I won't give up! Until the last card is played and someone's life points are at zero I will fight!' Her spirit was lifted  and was determined to see it through. "I activate reload. This lets me discard the 3 cards in my hand and draw 3 new ones." She then drew Odd-eyes. "I activate de-fusion to bring back my two divas that I used to fusion summon. Next tribute them both. Come on out Odd-eyes Pendulum Dragon!" Odd-eyes appeared and with it Yuzu's victory granted. "That dragon doesn't stand a chance against mine." The guy laughed but Yuzu was still smiling knowing that she already won. "I activate shield and sword which switches your dragons attack and defense points." "What!?" "Since your dragon has 0 defense his attack goes down to the same amount." Yuzu's opponent was in disbelief but remembered something. "Even if you attack I will survive." Yuzu was still smiling. "Why are you smiling?" "You will see." The guy was confused and still was confident he will win. "Odd-eyes attack spiral flame strike!" "Like I said I survive." "At this moment Odd-eyes effect activates. When he destroys a level five or above monster damage is doubled." "What!?" "Reaction force!!!" "Nooo!!!" Odd-eyes hit the guy with 5000 points of damage and won the duel. "I won!" Yuzu cheered. Sora ran up to Yuzu with a smile on his face. "You were awesome Yuzu!" 

When they sat down Yuzu started to ask Sora about Yuya. "Sora can you tell me about Yuya's and what you found out?" Sora felt nervous and tried to ignore her question. "Sora I know you are hiding something and I want to know what Yuya is up against. Please just tell me." Sora sighed in defeat. "Okay it happened the next day after the guys left.

---flashback---
"Yuya I found something." Sora said. "What did you find?" "You and your brothers act the same and talk together when you changed." "Yeah so." "This means something inside you guys are the same. It like a person who was whole split into you guys. I kept on listening to your statement when you were in the change and it's like they want you four destroyed so it can come back. That's all I know for now." Yuya was shocked and tried to make sense of it. "Thanks Sora. Tell the guys me and my brothers will be gone for a while and will return soon." Sora nodded. "Just be careful and come back soon." Yuya then handed Sora a small box and left with out a word.

---end of flashback---

"And that's the story." Yuzu was more worried than before and wanted to help Yuya but she knew he wanted to do this alone. "I hope Yuya can handle this. I just want him safe." Sora reached in his pocket and handed Yuzu a small box. "He gave this to me and I think it for you since it is really girly." Yuzu opened the box and saw a piece of paper and a face down card.

Just something to remained you to smile. The world needs to see its beauty.

She picked up the card to see what it was.

"Smile word" she said as she smiled at it and remembered how much Yuya loved her smile. Sora smiled as we'll knowing Yuzu felt better.
