Chapter 18: The village

It's now been 2 months since they left and they made little progress. The brothers have been traveling the city and neighboring town to find answers. They asked historians and archaeologists about the guide tower or something about the four dragons but nothing. They were about to give up until Yugo go a lead on an old village that has story's that relate to the tower and their dragons.

Once the reached a hill looking over the village they took a break from a very long ride. Yuto stood facing the village and examined it. "This place is very old and corroding yet it looks peaceful." Yuto said Yuri walked towards Yuto and examined it as well. "Your right but we aren't here for touring around. We're here for answers." Yuri walked back to the runners and left Yuto with his thoughts. The village was small and building were very distant. They were made with wood and bricks. The roads dirt and little people roaming around. There was one building in the middle of the village that was bigger and looked more maintained. Around it was more of a high class homes with a walk around it to separating them from the old village and farms.They all looked strong and beautifully built. Yuto returned to his brothers to continue on to the village.

As they rode into town they noticed the people were making their own clothing and shoes. They had small shops with only the necessary food water and other things needed to work or clean. When they made it to the wall that separated them they were stopped by a girl that looked at least 1 or 2 years younger than them. She had glasses and short light purple hair. Her clothes were somewhat clean due to her statues. "Um hi" she said shyly. "Hello" Yuya said. He got off his runner and walked towards her. She cautiously stepped back a bit. "I'm Yuya were here to find out about the guide tower and 4 dragons. Do you know who we can ask?" The girl nodded and sighed them to follow. Yuto and Yuri walked behind her while Yuya and Yugo pushed their runners behind them. She remained silent and didn't turn around to look at them. When they arrived she pointed to a shed were Yuya and Yugo can put their runners. Yuya walked to the girl "what's your name?" "Sayaka" she said looking down. "You should smile more. It makes everything feel okay." Yuya said as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "It's hard to smile in this place." "Why it that?" Yuri asked. "Talk to Richard he can explain both questions." They nodded. Sayaka started to walk away but was stopped. "Can you stick with us. We don't know this place and could get lost easy." Yugo explained. She thought about for a moment. She eventually agreed and walked inside the building. The building had pictures and artifacts everywhere. It was very fascinating to all of them. "Why are you here?" A man walked down the stairs and approached them. He was old but fit and had silver hair with round glasses. "You study the guide tower, yes?" Yuri said. The man then gestured to the other room.

"My name is Richard Striker I'm here to study the village history. As for your guide tower question yes I did study it but I hit a wall in my study." He brought them drinks and sat down. "Who are you and what do you want to know about the tower." "I'm Yuri these are my brothers Yuya Yugo and Yuto. Do you know Sayaka?" "Yes I do she always comes by to study my past research but I'm surprised she is with you four. She is really shy." Sayaka looked away in embarrassment. "Well she is a nice person to put aside her shyness to help us." Yuto said putting his hand on Sayaka's shoulder. "And as for the guide tower what stopped your research?" "The four dragons they are connected some how but when I try to find out more there is no more information or artifacts." Yuto looked at his brothers to see if he can show him. They nodded. "Sayaka we might have just meet but we trust you enough that you would think different of us." Yuri said. This confused her and made her think what they are going to show her.

"This can be a bit disturbing. Also this is the not the worst. We would show you but we never get the source of video." Yuri took out a flash drive with the videos and mini projector. First was the change. As they watched Richard was more intrigued then disturbed. Sayaka was frightened a bit until she looked at Yuya who didn't even look at the video. She felt that Yuya would not be the type of person to do that on purpose. "Fascinating. Yuya your eyes changed and your hair seem to be lifted up. But you mentioned a source." "Yes when one of us gets in a state of pure rage it happens. And the source gets the worst out of it. We also get our dragons which is impossible." Yuto said. Richard started to write what he saw and heard down. "Why is it impossible might I ask?" "We gave our dragons to our girlfriends." "Can I ask something?" Sayaka said "of course." Yuya said. "Do your dragons match the ones Richard talked about?" "Yes." "Then you four have something to do with the tower origin. All four of you look the same and have the dragons as well as the dark side. This isn't a coincidence. But the question is you all have differences other than that dark side, why? Its like you share it or something."

Once she said that the brothers knew that they had a dark side but they never considered it being shared. "I might not know what is going on but I think that dark side is just one entity controlling you at your weakest or vulnerable." "I agree but why? If you all can follow me." Richard said. They walked to his study with books everywhere and disorganized. "I found stone at the tower. It's different than any other stone. This has iron like structure around it and in the middle an obsidian characteristics. It is nothing I have ever seen but I suspect it's something amazing because it reacts to the tower." They all were amazed with its unique structure and design. They stayed silent examining the stone until Sayaka yawned to break it. "I'm sorry it fascinating but I'm getting tired." Yuya smiled at her. "It's fine to be honest I'm tired too so why don't we call it a day?" They all nodded in agreement. "I have two spare rooms." "Me and my brothers can take the one room. We're used to sharing a room any way." Yugo said.

Sayaka was going to the other room when she noticed Yuto walking to the outside balcony. Yuto reached the balcony and climbed on the edge of the roof. He stared at the sky which made him feel at peace. "What are you doing up there?" Sayaka said looking up at Yuto. "Just looking at the sky. Why are you out here?" "I just saw you walk out here so I got worried." Sayaka said shyly looking down. "Thanks. It been a while since someone other than my brothers worried about me." "You have anyone in mind?" "Yes she is always on my mind." Yuto replied with a smile looking back at the sky. "Do you love her?" "Yes I do." "What's her name?" "Ruri. Look here she is." Yuto jumped down and took out a picture of all eight of them at the pier. "They are like you and your brothers. And their bracelets are beautifully made." Sayaka turned her attention to Yuto and Ruri. "She looks beautiful Yuto." "I know." Yuto looked at the sky one last time. "Let's get some rest okay?" Sayaka nodded and went to her room.

Yuto entered his room. "How was the sky?" Yuya asked "beautiful as always. Sayaka kept me company." "You know she is really sweet and adorable. I can't help but feel like a big brother to her." Yugo said. "I agree. Let's get to know her better tomorrow." Yuri suggested. They all nodded.

The morning can along and the guy woke up early except for Yugo. They pulled him out of bed and headed for the kitchen. When the were going down the stairs when they heard a scream and a thud. They ran down and say Sayaka on the ground and 4 guards with a well dressed man standing there. "The runners are now ours and Mr striker will leave the village. Next time you speak out of term you will be punished." They were going to leave until they saw the brothers. "You did this?" Yuya asked. "Yes and new comers must pay a fee so if you don't want to suffer like that piece of garbage then pay up." The brother step closer to them. The man extended his hand expecting money. Instead was thrown outside with the guards. "How dare you! Guards!" The four guards got up at looked at the brothers. "You threaten us, you took Richard, and you hurt Sayaka." Yuya said. After Yuya said that it happened with all of them changing at he same time. Their eyes changed and a dark aura formed around them. Destruction was coming. How devastating it would be was any ones guess.
