Trinity was heading to the park, to see the children on the slides and swings, the families having a picnic together. It was very serene and comforting . She also enjoyed walking through the trails in the middle of the huge park. She felt more at home in nature.
Trinity was nearly sixteen and had a nice frame, kind eyes of dark green that could brighten any day. Trinity had hair the color of raven's feathers, sleek thick black curls. Trinity was a nice well rounded teenager. She had gifts, rare special gifts. Strange things would just happen around her. She knew she was special, but she did think she was a rare kind of special. She was a chosen one. Today she got to enjoy being a bored teenager, waiting for her life to really begin.
watcher
Canella stood watching the chosen one, trying to size up the level of pain in the butt this would be. She preferred to just watch from the sidelines, that was what she was meant for, she was a soul watcher. Her job was watching over mortals, she had been doing so for centuries, protecting them without their knowledge. This was different, Canella had to deal with the mortal now.
She was not one for people. She didn't care for the company of others. She was not rude or spiteful, just preferred to work alone, and things went better for her that way. It helped things from getting complicated. She could n't stand working with mortals. They did nothing but ask questions that over centuries, Canella was tired of answering.
She knew she had to get Trinity started with this, but she knew that one or two days of letting the young girl stay a young girl who didn't know what dangers really were lurking in the shadows. Canella could give the girl nothing else; she could give Trinity one more day.
She also wondered what magical abilities had begun to surface with the girl, if any. She was hoping the girl had at least discovered some of her magical abilities. She really didn't want to have to teach her everything from scratch. It would take too long, leaving all that is good and pure in the world vulnerable. Canella was not going to let that happen on her watch. She just hoped that this girl was not too defiant. She could handle a lot but she did not tolerate rebellious teenagers, they made her just want to vomit. In time she would find out what she needed to know, another day at the most before having to explain all of this to Trinity.
Trinity was sitting on the back porch of the small house, staring at the stars. She wondered about her life, where it would take her, if she would have children one day. Trinity thought of her life's purpose. She was exhausted yet her thoughts were wide awake, knocking around in her mind. She had a great love of adventure, like most teenage girls.
She sat like that for hours, just thinking about how her life might turn out. She did not hear her mother, Adina calling for her.
"Trinity Fate!" Adina yelled to her daughter out of more annoyance than concern.
Adina waited another five minutes before going on the back step to find her daughter day dreaming again. What else was knew? Adina thought. That girl had her head in the clouds so much she could probably tell you when it would rain next. Adina waited, but when Trinity had not noticed her, she made a small sound to get her attention.
