                                               The watcher and the witch

Lost in some strange forest type setting, but it didn't look familiar. She fell into a deep  fairy tale style meditation. It was very relaxing to her. She enjoyed meditation, it was like visiting another world. She had gotten much better at it since she began attempting it. She stayed cross-legged on her bed for a few hours in a trance until she heard some nocturnal animal screeching in the distance. It broke her focus.

She wrote down the results of her meditation and how it was interrupted. She then tucked her record book back under her bed. She grabbed her poetry book. She had been meaning to get something added to it sometime this week. She opened the tattered old book and began to carefully look through some of her old poems once again. She enjoyed doing that. A lot of her poetry was a reflection of her age, being a young woman, she wrote about love. She wrote a few poems about true love, soul mates and one's destiny.

This time, she was having a little trouble but closed her eyes trying to force herself to think harder. She knew there was a poem rattling around in that brain of hers somewhere. The key was finding it, getting it to come to the surface. She usually did not have much trouble with her poems. She began to wonder if she had been studying too hard, maybe she was causing her own brain freeze? She took a deep breath and waited a moment, watching the candles that were almost burned down to the end of the wick. She stared into the flames with deep concentration, and simply waited. When it came to her, she grabbed her pen and found a comfortable position.

Mysterious forces of the unknown,

How will I make it on my own?

Will I fill my life's purpose,

Or will trouble begin to surface?

Mysterious forces of the cosmos,

What am I to do, what am I to become?

Anything more than yet another confused and lost one?

Tell me please, for this night, I need to see what will become of me?

She still had another hour before she had to go to sleep for the night. Trinity was not sure what to do before bed, so she grabbed a book off the shelf and started to read it in bed. It was not long before she fell asleep in the middle of the first chapter.

She was up with the sun that morning, ready to get through her day She had a couple of mortals to check in on before her training sessions in the park with Trinity. If nothing else about the mortal world, she was glad to be teaching this girl. She was a sweet kid and listened very well. She was also a good person, anyone who talked to her could see that.  Glad to see that task she was given had been going better than she expected. She was looking forward to teaching her new prodigy again today. It had become a lot of fun for the both of them. She knew there was no way to fully prepare the young witch for the truth, but the watcher vowed to do the best she could. That was all they could ask of her.

When Canella was ready to deal with the mortal world, she headed out for the day to watch over her mortals. She liked to check in on all of them, just to make sure they are safe. She did not care for a lot of interaction with those she watched over, but she was very protective of her mortals. She almost felt like an outsider bonding to them. She did not mind it, but she remembered what her own teacher had told her about bonding too close to some of the mortals, not all of them are meant for a happy and full life.

If nothing else he ever said, that thought never left her mind. She had expierenced what he was referring to years later. She had a mortal that she looked after, his name was John. He was a great artist, his life had gotten better over the years, then something inside the poor guy snapped. He ended up shooting himself a few years later. She should have known. She still blamed herself for it to this day. She knew he was supposed to do that, it was just a part of his life cycle, but it bothered her. It gave her a very disturbing feeling whenever she thought of him.
