The very same evening that Sarah was out in the woods with Tom, far across the forest Veronica was at home in her luxurious bedroom. Concentrating on her current task, of great importance. She was trying to contact her guide, Galderian. Veronica needed his council. She needed to talk with him about meeting with her good friend out in the forest Ludwig. She had promised Ludwig that she would speak of it the next time she saw the raven guide. Veronica had tried for the past two nights to contact her raven for her friend, the gargoyle. She had no such luck. It aggravated her to pieces.
She did not fail at anything, let alone calling a guide that was supposed to appear at will, she had thought. It was the third night she had attempted to contact him as she had the first time she had met him. She recreated the exact same meditation and grounding work, the same candle layout on her altar. She had even tried to wish him there, she tried chanting for him, meditation, even what she knew of telepathy and mind control. Still she had nothing;
There was no insight, and no hope. There was no raven appearing at her command. Veronica kicked the bed in anger. She looked outside watching the end of the moon rising into the now darkening sky.
She began to breathe deep. The night was majestic, with a strange essence in the gentle breeze. Veronica found it to be quite intriguing to say the least. A smile spread across her soft lips. She then in a maddening trance marched to her altar and summoned the book. She flipped through it until she found a summoning spell.
She went to work quickly, in a lost fury that was all her own. She began the spell chanting faster calling for Galderian by name, until his name became like breathing to her. She kept going until she felt like she could no longer breathe. When she finished she stomped up and down like a child having a fit. It had not worked. Nothing had worked. She was officially pissed off at the universe.
